Icently, under the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, scientists of the Mechatronics Department, Institute of Mechanics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology have researched and successfully developed the product of SM6 robot arms through the topic: “Perfecting and mastering the technology of designing and manufacturing industrial robots of 6 levels of freedom and applying products to industrial production lines”.
The SM6 robot product has the largest range of 850mm, weighs 38kg, has automatic stop and safety function, can be fixed on the floor, hanging on the wall, on the ceiling depending on the demand. The product can replace the human arm in a number of industrial stages integrated with production lines with low to high automation levels in the optimal space.
The SM6 robot was tested and tested in the detailed metal welding stage in Factory 197 – National Defense Industrial Technology Corporation. Thereby SM6 is rated as simple in installation, has a compact size, high stability, is able to coordinate with workers and other machines to work effectively.
In August, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organized a pre-acceptance test session with leading experts in the field of robotics – Mechatronics. The acceptance committee assessed that this is one of the first projects in Vietnam to create robot products including hardware and software, highly creative, in accordance with the trend of Industrial Revolution 4.0.
Also in recent times, from the activities of supporting scientific research of Ho Chi Minh City Department of Science and Technology, A.K.B Machinery Manufacturing Co., Ltd. has researched and designed a 6-level freedom small size robot. Model 6-level freedom robot A.K.B has a rotary-type structure, 3kg load, 500mm reach, 0.5 KVA power consumption, weight under 25kg. In addition, A.K.B also researches the design of embedded controllers, develops appropriate control algorithms to improve the quality of control, and builds a set of theoretical and empirical data, technology process is the basis for future product development.
Tests show that the A.K.B robot performs well the application operations such as picking products, grinding, polishing, metal welding … with suitable accuracy in industrial production. However, the product also needs to improve the mechanical design, hardware, software, robot control algorithms, and manufacturing industry to meet the mass production of commercial robots.
Robotic products such as SM6 or A.K.B are proof that Vietnamese scientists are fully capable of creating 6-level freedom robot arms along with production automation solutions according to specific needs. of the business. Thanks to mastering the manufacturing and manufacturing process, integrating both hardware and software, the prices of these robots are certainly very competitive compared to imported goods of the same type, creating opportunities for Vietnamese enterprises to use robots in production more widely.
