Over the past years, Viet Tri Chemical Joint Stock Company has implemented a wide range of initiatives to improve production rationalization and rewarding in a timely manner, to create motivation for employees to promote creativity, to have optimal solutions and application of new technologies in production.
The movement to promote production rationalization in the whole company has contributed a significant part to production and business efficiency, typically in 2017, there were 30 innovative solutions, in 2018 there were 38 innovative solutions, benefiting the company tens of billions of VND. Among them, there are two outstanding solutions: “Improving and supplementing capacity of Caustic production equipment” and “Improving the efficiency of producing powdered PAC products”. The main contents of the two solutions are as follows:
Solution 1: Renovate and supplement the capacity of caustic soda production equipment:
Before applying the solution, the production capacity of caustic soda, according to the ion exchange membrane technology of the company is 30,000 tons / year (converted into 100% NaOH), in which Chemical Plant II has one electrolytic device. The NBH-2.7 consists of 72 compartments, the compartment structure according to the electrode gap technology (near-gap). The rectifier system has a total DC current of 15,000A and a voltage of 270V. The production capacity of caustic soda is 10,000 tons / year. Electricity consumption when newly put into operation: 2,160 kWh / 1 ton of caustic soda (100% NaOH).
Chemical Plant III has 02 electrolytic devices NBZ-2.7, each device has 60 compartments, the structure prevents according to the zero-gap electrode technology. The rectifier system has a total DC current of 16,200 kA and 220V voltage. Production capacity of caustic soda is 20,000 tons / year. Electricity consumption when newly put into operation: 2,060 kWh / 1 ton of caustic soda (100% NaOH).
On the basis of applying zero-gap electrode technology in Chemical Factory III, the authors have studied and calculated to propose solutions to improve the production capacity of caustic soda as follows:
For Chemical Plant II, renovate the electrolytic device from 72 near-gap electrical compartments into devices with 78 preventing the zero-gap electrode. Raising the production capacity of caustic soda plant from 10,000 tons / year to 13,000 tons / year. Auxiliary equipment, systems include pumps, T-160 ion exchange towers, containers, … are utilized and designed in-house to ensure faster construction time and schedule.
Chemical Plant III installs each electrolytic device with 04 zero-gap electrode compartments, bringing the total number of compartments of two electrolytic devices from 120 compartments to 128 to prevent zero-gap electrodes. Increase the capacity of caustic soda production of chemical plant III from 20,000 tons / year to 21,333 tons / year.
After applying the solution, the production capacity of caustic soda by ion exchange membrane technology increased by 4,333 tons per year (equivalent to 14.4% compared to the design capacity), increasing the total capacity The company produces 44,333 tons of caustic soda per year
The advantage of this solution is that there is less to change and replace equipment; short construction time, minimizing the impact on production and business activities; saving investment costs for equipment procurement about VND 48 billion; the input costs are about VND 7.1 billion / year. In addition, profits are generated from increased sales of soda products and associated products.
Solution 2: Improve productivity and business efficiency of powdered PAC products
Before applying the innovative solution, PAC’s spray drying technology line produced only 9 tons of product / shift (equivalent to a capacity of 9,000 tons / year).
The group of authors has studied, calculated, checked and designed additionally, increasing the capacity of the spray drying line to 15,000 tons / year. After calculating the design of the size change and renovation of the drying tower, the authors have chosen to replace the nozzle to meet the spraying capacity of 15,000 tons / year; at the same time, improve the auxiliary equipment in the chain such as the settling chamber of dust, exhaust fans, push fans, gas processing towers; design and renovate workshops and technological pipelines accordingly.
After renovation, the spraying technology line system achieved a production capacity of 15,000 tons / year. The technical specifications of the product are stable, accepted by the market to replace imported products, save foreign currency for the country. Economically, saving, investment costs for equipment procurement; profit from increasing revenue of PAC products and companion products is about VND 17 billion.
