With the main goal of building an energy management system according to ISO 9001 for the production of precision machined products, after a period of applying ISO 9001: 2015, 100% of products of Que Joint Stock Company Welding Viet Duc has been under quality control.
Viet Duc Welding Electrode Joint Stock Company is one of 36 industrial manufacturing enterprises (DN) participating in the program “Support for converting quality management systems according to ISO 9001: 2008 standard to a new version of ISO 9001: 2015 for industrial enterprises “- one of the projects to improve the productivity and quality of industrial products and goods of the Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned the Vietnam Productivity Institute (VNPI) for implementation within the framework of Program 712 After 3 months of implementation, 100% of the produced products have been well controlled by the company for quality.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Hoa – Head of Productivity Research Department, VNPI – shared: The quality management system ISO 9001: 2015 is the latest standard for enterprise evaluation. Industry enterprises are at the forefront of learning and applying quality management systems, ensuring to provide products that meet customer requirements. Therefore, converting the quality management system to the new standard ISO 9001: 2015 is considered a necessary job to improve the competitiveness of enterprises.
According to Mr. Ngo Ba Viet – Director of Vietnam – Germany Electric Welding Rod Joint Stock Company, innovating technology as well as diversifying types, improving product quality is the strategic goal the company always aims at. With the 5S productivity improvement tool, the company believes that, in the coming time, the competitiveness of enterprises will be increasingly enhanced.
The project was implemented within 3 months with consultation and support from experienced VNPI experts. The implementation process at Viet Duc Electric Welding Rod Joint Stock Company is divided into main phases: Situation assessment; training, updating general awareness and new content according to ISO 9001: 2015 standards; building and updating the quality management system; implementing the quality management system, internal evaluation of the quality management system. The results of internal assessment show that the quality management system in some departments and departments is not really effective, such as: machine profiles are not updated with enough information to replace and repair, incomplete documents, records, etc.
After the transition implementation process with the advice and support of experts and the determination of the entire Board of Directors and officers, employees of the company, the aforementioned limitations have been overcome. Accordingly, the company has raised awareness for the entire management staff about the requirements of ISO 9001: 2015 through training courses. At the same time, completing the document system to put into practical use through the definition of processes (especially the process of directly creating products for customers), sequence – interactions as well as ways to control the process; guide and conduct inspection and control from inputs to delivery; document system, easy to manage, easy to find and use as well as ensure storage, confidentiality, etc.

In order to maintain these achievements, the reality shows that the company leaders need to continue to provide human resources for implementation; strengthening awareness training courses for officials and employees; carry out periodic internal audits as well as maintain operations of the company’s ISO Board, in order to step by step implement the system to become more and more complete.
