Aiming at the goal of “4 no”: No defects, no shutdowns, no loss and no accidents, Thang Loi Co., Ltd. (Vico) has decided to join the TPM Support Program by the Ministry of Industry and Trade.
As an enterprise (DN) operating with a Lost foam vacuum molding technology line, Thang Loi is also known as a unit with a methodical investment in science and technology (S&T) when investing in building a regional metal testing, with many modern machinery and equipment, specialized application software operating under ISO: 17025 standards, and ISO: 9001-2015 quality management system.
However, with the aim of “no defects, no shutdowns, no loss and no accidents”, from September 2019, Thang Loi participated in the TPM program of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry. Trade for manufacturing enterprises in order to improve productivity and quality, within the framework of the Project “Improving productivity and quality of industrial products and goods” under the National Program “Improving productivity and quality. products and goods of Vietnamese enterprises until 2020 ”. The improvements are focused on 3 pillars, including: the self-governing maintenance pillar (AM), the planned maintenance pillar (PM), and the centralized improvement pillar (FI) established and applied in the trailer machine (ball making machine), and gradually draw experience to deploy and expand to other production areas and lines.
After 3 months of implementing the program, by December 2019, the TPM Board of Vico and the consultant jointly evaluated the performance results at the trailer very positive. Specifically, the TPM assessment shows that the score is 74% (achieved) compared to the evaluation items on: Set out the TPM target; how to implement the TPM; AM; PM and FI.
With AM, the TPM Board, the operators, and the Quality Control department issued 19 red cards and monitored the red card correction rate weekly. The electromechanical unit identifies difficult points for cleaning, develops one-point lessons (OPL), updates 2 trailer machine operating instructions, and trains the operator on how to check the machine every day.
With PM, the company has launched a weekly equipment maintenance plan, thereby evaluating the skills of the electromechanical staff according to the skill matrix; The company has made a list of faults at each machine, specifically grouped by mechanical error, motor electrical error, control electrical error, etc., from there, statistic, record the downtime due to failure to calculate only MTBF number (mean time between failures).
With FI, based on statistics on the frequency and time of machine failure by error, the TPM Board has given kaizenes such as: Increasing the life of bolts of the machine and increasing the life of the wings, optimizing production steps, etc., bring efficiency, reduce gas and oxygen costs for the company.
From the results achieved, Thang Loi Company said that it will continue to maintain the TPM activities that have been consulted, guided and expanded to apply TPM to other areas and production lines.
