Vicem Hoang Thach: Benefit from the initiative

In recent years, Vicem Hang Thach Cement Company has been implementing many solutions on technological innovation and corporate governance to optimize production – business and improve competitiveness. Ms. Do Thi Toan is known as one of the examples of innovation, benefiting the Company recently.

Working in Materials and Supply Chain Division – Vicem Hoang Thach Cement Company; Ms. Toan’s tasks are to statistic, track, deploy orders, contracts, report the order fulfillment in the month as well as compiled a report comparing prices off orders of over VND 50 million and appraise price of orders below 50 million VND, aggregating monthly remittance. Thanks to that, in the process of working, she has taken the initiative to work more effectively.

Ms. Toan has proposed to the Board of Directors to apply the solution of improving the electronic weighing system, simplifying and saving costs when making statistical reports, eliminating errors of operating staff. This initiative is applied to the system of conveyor weighing and cement bagging systems to help the labor productivity of operators be improved, making statistical reports in the production shift are no longer difficult towel like before that becomes easier.

Because the characteristics of the production shift are continuous, thanks to the software system, when selecting information according to a pre-made list and automatically reading the volume of goods in words, the construction of reports is easy and fast. more, help improve efficiency, save time. At the same time, adjusting the content of the good statistics page also saves 1/3 of the paper and ink monthly, while still ensuring the full content of the required report. Thanks to that, the Company saves about VND 45 million / year.

Recognizing the need to ensure traffic safety and security at the scale and yard area in front of the feeder hopper A1, A2 and A2 are essential; Ms. Toan had an initiative to place a soft divider in the weigh station area to enhance the management, supervision and administration of freight forwarding activities. Now, the cars in the order of weight and in the parking lot waiting to pour goods into the funnels according to the specific flow, no more messy phenomenon when entering the yard as before. The weighed vehicles cannot drive out of the parking lot in front of the works without being inspected and supervised because the positions around the yard are fenced and the only exit is available. The entry has been enhanced through surveillance cameras. Thanks to that, there are no more cars coming out of the street after being weighed, then mixing with the cars circulating outside to return to the scale to deceive the goods to increase the delivery volume. The initiative benefits the company about VND 120 million.

Not stopping there, Mrs. Toan also built software for managing and calculating goods. She shared that the software that replaces the calculation of goods using Excel with specialized software written in Visual Basic, Access 2013, SQL has standardized the form of sales report of the Company. In addition to improving employee productivity, the software also helps employees in the process of inputting, making calculation reports, statistics, etc. Thus, the Company saves about VND 120 million/ year.

With many innovative initiatives benefiting hundreds of millions of dong for Vicem Hoang Thach, Ms. Do Thi Toan for many years was an emulation fighter at the grassroots level, awarded a Certificate of Merit by Vietnam Cement Industry Union Trade Union. Last year, at the Conference praising the typical case of Advanced Labor, Creative Labor nationwide, Ms. Do Thi Toan was honored to receive the Certificate of Merit from the Prime Minister.
