Tôn mạ Vnsteel Thăng Long: Tăng năng suất gấp rưỡi nhờ không ngừng cải tiến

Facing the market’s demand for corrugated and plated products, Vnsteel Thang Long Galvanized Steel Joint Stock Company has boldly implemented a project to increase the capacity of corrugated iron production line to one and a half since the end of 2016 and so far has reached the target. This success is due to the spirit of creating innovative solutions for employees at the Company.

Vnsteel Thang Long Galvanized Steel JSC is a member unit of Vietnam Steel Corporation –CTCP. The company’s main products are galvanized iron and color coated corrugated iron. During 7 years of establishment and development, the Company has been constantly innovating, investing in production technology, implementing ISO 9001: 2015 quality management systems, ISO 14001: 2015 environment management and ISO 50001: 2011 energy quality management to market quality products and competitive prices.

Facing the increasing demand of the galvanized steel sheet market, the Company is determined to implement the project to increase the production line capacity by 1.5 times compared to the current capacity. During the project implementation, many breakthrough improvement solutions were implemented and brought high efficiency.

Firstly, the solution “upgrading the paint line from 40m/min to 60m/min” is recommended. Increasing the speed of the paint line has helped to increase the production capacity from 50,000 tons/year to 70,000 tons/year with thick products from 0.2 – 1.6mm, width from 600-1250mm. In addition, this solution also helps the Company reduce operation time, reduce material consumption, reduce waste treatment costs, reduce labor costs. The benefit of improvement is up to VND 17 billion/year.

In the process of upgrading the speed of the paint line, digging, pouring concrete in the construction of the foundation for the expansion of the accumulation tower and the installation of new Bridle No. 2, it is expected to take 5-6 weeks of continuous work. The construction process also made the upgrade of the drive system lasting from 7-8 weeks. However, projects to increase production line capacity are only allowed to stop working alternately with maintaining production. Recognizing the problem, a new construction solution to shorten the time to 2-3 weeks has been proposed, contributing to help reduce construction risks and skip some unnecessary steps.

In order to increase the kiln capacity, to avoid unsatisfactory lead hardness, the solution of “Upgrading of paint drying oven” was introduced with the extension of the kiln by 6m and the addition of an additional Zone combustion chamber. The author has changed the parameters of the complete kiln to ensure the quality of the product reaches the hardness of lead, evenly distributes the heat to the burning areas. The solution helps to reduce the commissioning time of the line, reduce the amount of waste products and increase production capacity.

Thanks to the above-mentioned solutions, Vnsteel Thang Long has increased the capacity of color-coated corrugated iron lines to 70,000 tons/year, galvanized steel sheets to 100,000 tons/year, timely meeting the market demand.
