Through the improvement of production processes in craft villages, many production cooperatives in Thua Thien Hue province have received many practical achievements.
Limit due to manual
Director of Cooperative Bao La Bamboo and Rattan – Mr. Vo Van Dinh said that, by this time, products of cooperatives were not enough to supply the market, many orders had to be canceled due to inadequate quantity. Meanwhile, the income of workers is not high due to low productivity, affecting work progress.
The cause of this situation is due to the majority of the production stages of products such as lamp bowl, night light, tea tray, table, tray of jam, basket, baske, interior, exterior products… are hand-crafted from rattan, bamboo, so it takes a lot of time, low productivity and small quantity so it does not meet big orders.
The owner of Co Bang NX Nguyen Nguyen Nam wonders, if the village has an grass crusher, the people in the village will suffer less. Because, for a long time, the stages to create products, such as bags, hats, pen boxes, photo frames… are all made by hand, so low productivity leads to high prices, difficult to compete with other products on the market.
Increase value
By the end of 2018, through the source of industrial promotion capital, the Department of Industry and Trade supported A Co Brocade Textile Cooperative 35 million dong, equipped with a zèng fabric production machine, including improved loom frame and accessories, capacity up to 30m fabric/day.
The cooperative director, Ms. Truong Thi Huyen, said that after putting the textile machine into operation, the textile productivity increased 4-5 times compared to the manual weaving, while the price was low and the fabric was soft and cool so the The school in the district has ordered uniforms for students in large numbers, contributing to restoring traditional jobs and creating jobs for rural workers.
Also in 2018, Cooperative Bao La Bamboo and Rattan was assisted by the Department of Industry and Trade with 50% of funds to equip Hue laser engraving and engraving machines, and mascots on bamboo and rattan products to enhance the value and quality of products.
“Currently, the cooperative has a engraving machine to engrave names and logos on products to identify trade village product brands, but other stages are still doing crafts due to lack of capital so they cannot receive large orders”, Mr. Dinh shared.
Technology transfer
In March 2019, the Provincial People’s Committee approved the project “Development of rural industry by 2025” with a total capital of nearly VND 1,900 billion, of which the project will invest about VND 110 billion in investment in technology and machinery transfer and equipment. being advanced in IT industry development; developing high technology applications in producing, processing and consuming agricultural products; projects to restore and develop traditional craft villages; improve productivity and quality of some typical rural industry products…
Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, Mr. Nguyen Luong Bay said that, along with the IT development project, the Department continues to implement solutions to support craft villages in investment in machinery and equipment, improve the design of product and build the brand through industrial promotion fund and handicraft village development fund.
2019 will apply to traditional handicraft villages such as Bao La bamboo and rattan, Van Cu and O Sa villages, carpentry and fine arts… In particular, will support the stage of market linkage, supporting machinery and equipment for production departments and orienting craft villages to combine production with advanced equipment while still maintains some manual steps, create sophisticated and beautiful products and have reasonable prices to expand the market and attract customers, contributing to increase the value of industrial production in the province.
