The steel industry has renovated technologies and improved productivity and product quality

In the context of global integration and fierce competition between enterprises in both domestic and foreign markets, technological innovation, application of management systems, productivity and quality improvement tools are the solutions to help steel enterprises improve productivity, product quality, enhance position and prestige, image of enterprises in the market.

In 2020, the steel industry is expected to have more conditions to promote production and export to new markets. However, the increasing competition pressure will put the Vietnam’s steel industry in no small difficulty, especially the risk of facing trade defense cases, and the arising problems, while the situation of losing the balance between supply and demand in the country has not improved.

Regarding this issue, the Vietnam Productivity Institute stated that improving productivity, product and good quality are becoming a key factor to create a competitive position of businesses in general and the industry steel in general. When productivity and quality are guaranteed, products are consuming more, creating conditions for businesses to dominate the market, increase sales and profits.

Determining market requirements and requirements in the new context, a number of steel enterprises have now stepped up innovation, invested in their technology and quality management systems to improve productivity and quality product.

One of the typical enterprises on improving and improving productivity is the Viet Duc Steel Pipe Joint Stock Company (VG PIPE). Accordingly, the Company has invested in a modern system of steel pipe production lines, cold rolled corrugated iron sheets and galvanized iron sheets. So far, Viet Duc steel has expanded production and applied advanced modern technology of European countries and Japan with high automation rate of 38 steel production lines, slitting lines.

In particular, management and production activities of the company follow ISO 9001: 2015 quality management system and 5S improvement program according to Japan. The products of Viet Duc Steel are manufactured according to domestic and international standards such as Vietnam Standards (TCVN); Japanese standard (JISG 3112); American standards (ASTM) and standards of advanced countries in the world to meet customer requirements and ready to meet the integration process.

Thanks to that, VG PIPE has affirmed the position of the top 4 largest steel pipe manufacturers and consumers in Vietnam, the proportion of exports to the European market is over 50%.

In this technological innovation race, Tan A Dai Thanh has also invested in Southeast Asia’s largest water heater factory with a capacity of 2 million products / year in Ha Nam according to the pine factory model intelligent with accurate automation line with the application of 4.0 technology, the same system of machinery, modern technology imported from Italy and G7 countries.

Reportedly, Tan A Dai Thanh is one of the few units that apply modern science and technology in production, especially with a large-scale factory in Southeast Asia. As a result, in 2019, Dai A Tan Thanh Company is also one of four Vietnamese enterprises that won the Asia-Pacific Quality Awards GPEA.

In fact, steel companies have made great efforts in technological innovation, raising productivity and product quality towards the international market and improving their competitive position. For sustainable development and international integration, enterprises need to continue promoting their strengths and focus on a scientific approach and catch up with the current trend of Industry 4.0.
