The secret of Binh Minh Plastics to winning the National Quality Gold Award

For the first time participating in the National Quality Award of Vietnam (National Quality Award), Binh Minh Plastics Joint Stock Company has excellently ranked in the Top 15 enterprises received the National Quality Gold Award 2017. That result came from continuous innovation in production as well as continuous technological improvement, quality improvement and the quality of human resources improvement according to the criteria of the National Quality Award.

Shared about the participating process of Binh Minh Plastics in the National Quality Award 2017, Mr. Hai Nguyen Thanh, Deputy Sales Director said: “There are many changes but first of all is the strategy. We focused on corporate governance, internal governance, orientation on customers and the market. Thereby, we have expanded our production capacity, researched and developed new products to meet the increasing demands of customers and markets.”

The representative of the company also said that Binh Minh Plastics has soon built the enterprise overall management information system infrastructure – ERP to control transparent information, accurate accounting data from branches/factories and member companies. That system helped improve business processes such as warehouse management, production progress, inventory management of raw materials, finished products accurately and timely.

In addition, the application of quality management model according to ISO 9000, standards of environmental quality management ISO 14000 and improved tools such as Kaizen, 5S on quality management, productivity improvement has also been applied for many years by the company and is constantly consolidated.

Not only that, the company always prioritizes to apply advanced technologies and equipment in the production process. For example, at the factory of Binh Minh Plastic Company in Vinh Loc 2 industrial park, machines and automated robots are taking on most of the production activities. Here, the workers mainly do supervision and inspection activities in the production process. The factory area is 10,000 m2, the factory only needs a maximum of 65 workers for each shift.

Due to the right orientation and efforts to synchronously implement solutions to improve productivity and quality, in the last 5 years, the growth rate of Binh Minh Plastics has always reached 16-18% / year. The current output of the company is approximately 100 thousand tons/year and the turnover is more than 4 trillion VND/ year. Recently, Binh Minh Plastic Joint Stock Company is honored to be among the top 500 largest enterprises in Vietnam, the 50 most efficient enterprises on the stock exchange.

The Vietnam National Quality Award is awarded annually and is a prestigious quality award, within the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award system of the Asia-Pacific Quality Organization. The award is organized to honor businesses that have achieved outstanding achievements in improving the quality of products, services, competitiveness, and operational efficiency, integration with regional and world economies.

When participating in the National Quality Award, all units and businesses will be evaluated based on 7 criteria: the role of leadership; operational strategy; customer-oriented and market-oriented policies; measure, analyze and manage knowledge; human resource management and development; managing the operation process; performance results. Through the evaluation of these criteria, businesses can look back and comprehensively evaluate their production system, thereby finding out the issues that need to improve quality, enhance brand reputation and competitiveness, meeting integration requirements.
