The seminar on “Improving the business model of the enterprise according to the criteria of the National Quality Award” was held on December 13, 2019 by the The Directorate of Standards, Metrology and Quality (Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST)) in collaboration with the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI).
The National Quality Award, with 24 years of establishment and development, was built and implemented on the basis of accepting the model and criteria of the Malcolm Baldrige Award – the National Quality Award of the United States. The National Quality Award consists of 7 rigorous, scientific and comprehensive criteria that evaluate all activities and results of an organization / enterprise.
The criteria are based on modern principles (customer-oriented, process management, system management, etc.) and advanced management methods and tools (ISO 9000, ISO 14000, SA 8000, TQM, LEAN, 5S, Benchmarking, Best practices, etc). The National Council decided on a list of enterprises to request the Minister of Science and Technology to submit to the Prime Minister to award the National Quality Award. The National Quality Awards include two categories: the National Quality Gold Award and the National Quality Award.
Every year, manufacturing enterprise with outstanding achievements in production, business, construction and effective application of quality management systems, actively participate in the productivity and quality movement in the locality and Contribution to the community and society will be considered and awarded the National Quality Award.
According to the leader of the DOVINA company: “Participating in the National Quality Award, we are assessed comprehensively based on 7 criteria of the award. Through evaluating these criteria, we can look back and evaluate our production system in a comprehensive way, thereby finding issues that need to improve quality, enhance brand reputation, and enhance competitiveness. paintings, meet integration requirements”.
The Asia Pacific Quality Organization (APQO)
So far, 1,914 enterprises have won the National Quality Award, of which 240 have won the National Quality Gold Award. The Quality Award will help enterprises have more opportunities to realize strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges, thereby taking measures to innovate technology, improve quality, improve productivity…contributing to improving High competitiveness, operational efficiency and towards sustainable development.
Based on that foundation, from 2000 to 2019, Vietnam has had 50 organizations and enterprises that won the Asia-Pacific International Quality Award and became the country with a large number of organizations and enterprises among APQO member countries (Mr. Harnek Singh – Chairman of Asia-Pacific International Quality Awards Council (GPEA) said at the Conference).
In the coming time, the Directorate for Standards, Metrology and Quality (STAMEQ) will continue to work closely with VCCI, industry associations to help the enterprises community to approach and apply the National Quality Assurance and Asia-Pacific Quality Award model in production and business activities, thereby, improving productivity, product quality, enhancing the competitiveness of the Vietnamese business community.
