Phu Yen tuynel factory was built and put into operation in 1999 to become the main supplier of construction bricks of the whole province and neighboring localities. The factory, invested by Thanh An Son La Joint Stock Company, is now applying the most advanced semi-flexible brick production technology, with a capacity of 35 million bricks / year with many outstanding advantages: Land use hills (instead of using farmland as previously used for brick production) and other solid wastes for brick production. Accordingly, the production process of the factory has no waste (all broken bricks, furnace slag are crushed as raw materials and put into the beginning of the line).
Mr. Nguyen Quang Hai, Director of Phu Yen tunnel brick factory, said: Producing baked bricks at Phu Yen tunnel brick factory is done under a closed process. The finished product has eye-catching red color, high hardness, square, ensuring quality and competitiveness in the market.
Through the new technology line, the hill soil is separated and transferred directly to the mill head, where the material, soil is carefully screened, leaving only the parts of land that meet the size standards. Next, the material, soil is transferred to the composting warehouse for proper mixing and transferred to the compaction stage. The finished brick has low moisture content only about 13-16%, compressive strength, bending and grouting are 2-3 times higher than bricks produced by the traditional method so the product will not take time to dry that goes straight into the kiln.
Results of brick quality evaluation by the Institute of Construction Materials (Ministry of Construction), 6-hole brick products of Phu Yen tunnel brick factory have a compressive strength of 35.6MPa; solid bricks have a compressive strength of 39.9MPa (higher than M200 concrete and 2-3 times higher than bricks produced from traditional technology).
In addition to the advantages of being friendly to the environment and good quality of finished bricks, semi-flexible brick production technology has high mechanization and automation, which has greatly reduced labor and production costs, currently the factory 140 employees, only equal to 40% of employees compared to the old technology. In addition, semi-plastic technology also has great socioeconomic significance, contributing to eliminating the production of brick and tile by manual kilns, causing environmental pollution and limiting the use of paddy land. These are the advantages to make Phu Yen tunnel brick products lower cost than some other types of bricks on the market, as well as address the shortage of labor in the current brick manufacturing facilities. Currently, the factory also stabilizes nearly 150 local workers with an income of 3.5-4.5 million VND / person / month. Thereby, contributing to meeting the demand for construction materials in the area and changing the structure of agricultural labor to industrial labor in the locality.
