NatsteelVina Co., Ltd. participates in the TPM program to maintain overall equipment performance in 2020 with the goal of increasing the overall equipment performance index OEE by 1% compared to the current average, improving the capacity of the core. Operators aim to own equipment and create a movement to improve productivity / quality / efficiency in the business.
Among the 8 pillars of TPM, the Company and the consultant agreed to deploy 2 main pillars: autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance for 6 months from June to November 2020.
During the first meeting, the consultant together with the company’s leadership representatives, the production manager, the deputy production manager, the foreman and the staff of the 3 departments of mechanics, electricity and technology with a total of 15 members have worked with and identified 19 issues of waste and loss related to people, lines, middle rolling systems, data analysis support systems, hydraulic, pneumatic, coarse rolling systems, cooling systems, environments, billets, furnaces, backup equipment, supplies, forklifts and billet yards. There are 6 improvement themes that have been selected by 3 groups for improvement in the coming time.
At the end of the meeting, the company’s representatives and consultants agreed on a number of improvement activities related mainly to training and improving the skills of workers in 3 parts of mechanics, electricity and technology; renovating furnace control equipment, changing the cold-rolled floor drive mechanism and upgrading and renovating cooling water treatment station. The improvement themes are expected to be completed within 3-6 months.
NatsteelVina Co., Ltd. currently operates a hot-rolled steel mill with a capacity of 200,000 tons / year in the Iron and Steel Industrial Park, Cam Gia, Thai Nguyen – a center of Vietnam’s steel industry. Since its establishment, NatSteelVina has provided a wide range of products such as coil, wire rod and rebar to the construction industry, and participates in many projects from infrastructure projects to housing. The training program and support for pilot application of the TPM toolkit for industrial enterprises supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for industrial enterprises takes place in the two years 2019-2020, towards the goal of Maintain maximum equipment productivity through the development and implementation of equipment maintenance programs, identifying and minimizing production losses. |
