Seikico Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd. was established in 2007 and operates in the field of precision engineering. With the goal of building and developing companies in supporting industries and processing precision mechanical parts for foreign companies in Vietnam, foreign companies and large companies. Seikico is committed to providing high quality products at reasonable prices, to satisfy customers through modern equipment imported from Japan, experienced experts in supervision and a team of skilled workers and highly disciplined.
With a clearly defined vision and goals, the company has gradually modernized its machinery, enhanced its workforce and made improvements to optimize production capacity and eliminate damages and wasted.
In 2019, Seikico Precision Mechanical Co., Ltd. participated in the TPM implementation support program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. As part of the program, the company has started key improvement groups to reduce tooling costs and improve production productivity for the clamping product – one of the company’s traditional products.
Over a period of 3 months (August 2019 – November 2019), the improvement team gradually analyzed the machine preparation activities and the processing time to create products to find potential improvement opportunities. With the continuous efforts and efforts of the group members and the close support from the company management, the time to prepare and process the clamp products has been significantly reduced. Specifically:
– Time to prepare the machine has saved 26 minutes / 1 time to prepare. Shorten from 9 steps, to 8 steps taken.
– Processing time has been reduced compared to before improvement of 30.5%. The machining process also decreased from 5 steps to 4 steps.
After the successful pilot implementation, the team standardized the operation and procedures to develop internal training materials, helping to disseminate the new process to all operators on the S1-01 machine.
With the results achieved, the team calculated and expected to save the first year for the company is 108 million (minus the cost of changing tools) and reduce the cost of creating one product unit.
From the lessons learned after deploying a pilot improvement group, the company continues to identify the next topics with high-volume products to continuously improve productivity and product quality.
