Science, technology and innovation: Promoting labor productivity

Science, technology and innovation are levers contributing to increasing labor productivity in enterprises (DN). Many incentive and supportive policies for enterprises to invest in scientific research, development and technological innovation have been issued and implemented and have achieved encouraging results.

According to the report of the Ministry of Science and Technology, through the National Product Development Program, the National High-Tech Development Program, the National Technology Innovation Program has contributed to the growth of enterprises. After the above programs ended, participating enterprises had an average annual growth rate of 18.8%; especially, some small-scale enterprises have growth rates of over 50%.

Business results of the above tasks are estimated at nearly 3,424 billion VND in the next 5 years (2020 – 2025), accounting for an average of 33.6% of the enterprise’s revenue. Enterprises have increased the localization rate in the production of products to 67%; including products using 100% domestic raw materials, the market share of enterprises will increase to 10% in 2016 and 20% in 2018, expected to 34.7% in the next 5 years. At the same time, the manufacturing of quests has created more than 3,000 jobs over the years and this impact will continue to spread far and wide across society in the coming years as the big scale tasks, bringing the product to market.
