Sao Bac Viet: Increasing productivity through innovative initiatives

Thanks to the promotion of emulation movements, technical innovation, Sao Bac Viet Investment and Development Joint Stock Company (Sao Bac Viet Company) has attracted many ideas and initiatives of staff of employees, contribute to increase labor productivity, improve employees’ income.

Sao Bac Viet Company is located in Dong Tan commune, Huu Lung district, Lang Son province, specializing in manufacturing plywood, veneer, plywood … for the domestic market and for export. In order to create quality products to meet the high requirements of customers, from the first day of establishment, the company’s leaders focused on processing techniques, production and investment in modern machines to support production.

While upgrading modern equipment and manufacturing systems is a long-term solution, encouraging employees to actively promote innovation initiatives brings many brand-name effects help the company achieve its productivity goals.

Specifically, in the plywood production line, if previously, only one worker was allowed to stand by one side to put the plywood in and do it manually to push the product to the cold press, which takes a lot of time, effort and quality product quantity. But in 2017, thanks to the improvement of the palletizing conveyor system that workers can stand on both sides of the line to manipulate, the boards are transferred to the cold press by conveyor, reducing labor force for workers and increasing double productivity. In addition, at the plywood factory, there are initiatives to improve the system of lifting and lowering of boards, chamfering sand machines, glue rollers, etc., to support the working process of workers effectively, reducing labor force.

Besides focusing on improving labor productivity, workers also focus on improving working environment for better, ensuring personal health. Typically, Anh La Minh Quyet recognizes the M&E team with the property of improving the dust filter system. Realizing that the dust filter system of the workshop is ineffective, the amount of dust is still high in the air, workers are directly affected such as eye and respiratory diseases. Therefore, Mr. Quyet has proposed to the management board to upgrade this system and so far the amount of dust in the workshop has been significantly reduced, creating a better working environment.

From 2017 up to now, Sao Bac Viet Company has had 10 innovative initiatives applied. Each year, the company saves over 100 million VND in labor costs, increases output, ensures an average worker income of VND 5.3 million / person / month.
