Samsung trained the first 25 support industry consultants for Vietnam

On July 10, Samsung Vietnam cooperated with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to conclude the first training of support industry consultants with 25 people.

Vietnamese experts have completed a 3-month training program with Korean experts in the field of manufacturing improvement and quality improvement.

The training course is within the framework of a memorandum of understanding signed between MOIT and Samsung Vietnam in March 2018 on training 200 qualified Vietnamese consultants to provide training and consultancy for Vietnam’s supporting businesses are more deeply involved in the global value chains of businesses.

Under the direct guidance from Korean experts, participants have 4 weeks of theoretical training with knowledge of quality management and production management, 8 weeks of direct practice of improvement consultancy activities for local businesses.

This is a consulting process that has been successfully applied by Samsung including: assessing the operation and business situation of Vietnamese supporting businesses; consulting production innovation, quality management and goods circulation through maintaining the working environment (5S3D) and improving productivity; Improve production facilities like quality and circulation of goods.

According to the trainees, experts from the Ministry of Industry and Trade, the local Department of Industry and Trade, lecturers of universities and specialized officials of the manufacturing enterprises, the training course was formulated on At the same time, it is linked to the reality and current situation of supporting enterprises in Vietnam.

Through practical opportunities and contacts at the enterprise, participants are guided to every detail and small manipulation to help businesses improve production efficiency and enhance product quality.

According to Mr. Shim Won Hwan, General Director of Samsung Vietnam, the first training of supporting industry consultants completed successfully with positive results and feedback from the trainees. Samsung believes that experts will become key human resources in the field of consulting and training, helping Vietnamese businesses to improve production capacity and competitiveness, thereby contributing to the overall development for Vietnam’s supporting industry.

To form a team of 200 nuclear consultants, in 2018 and 2019, Samsung will organize 8 training courses in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, each course is for 25 students and lasts 3 months.

This is an effort of Samsung Vietnam when implementing many solutions to encourage and create conditions for businesses to support Vietnam to develop.

Currently, the localization rate of Samsung in Vietnam is 58%. Among more than 200 businesses that are tier 1 suppliers of Samsung in Vietnam, the number of Vietnamese businesses is currently 29 and the target is 35 businesses in 2018, 42 businesses in 2019 and 50 businesses by 2020.
