Samsung: Support businesses to improve quality

Along with the commitment to join hands to develop Vietnam’s supporting industry (SI), Samsung is cooperating with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to continue replicating the innovation consultancy program for businesses (enterprises). It is expected that 12 more Vietnamese enterprises will be selected to participate in the program in 2018.

Participating in the enterprise improvement consultancy program, after each round (3 months) consulted by Samsung experts, all businesses have achieved significant results in production reform and  improve competitiveness.

Typically, Minh Man Print Producing and Trading Co., Ltd., after the consultancy program, the unit has a significant change in the rate of defective goods (down 72% of the defect rate at the customer end). In the process of improving with the scientific implementation of the process of first in, first out and preventing the amount of long -standing materials, the company has significantly reduced the value of materials inventory, from VND 1.6 billion in 46 days to VND 0.9 billion with a 23-day storage period; reducing inventories of finished products from VND 3.6 billion in 29 days to VND 1.1 billion in 8 days, etc.

Over the past 3 years (2015-2017), Samsung has carried out consultancy improvements for 26 businesses across the country. To continue this success, 3 enterprises in the South were invited to participate in the 1-2018 consultation program of Samsung. From June 2018, Samsung continues to implement the second phase of improvement consultancy programs for 3 more businesses in the South. Thus, it is expected that by the end of 2018, 38 Vietnamese enterprises will be consulted on this program.

Many businesses after joining the improvement consultancy program of Samsung, so far have been a level 1 or 2 supplier to this group. The number of Vietnamese enterprises that are tier 1 suppliers of Samsung has increased dramatically, from 4 enterprises in 2014 to 29 enterprises at the present time and to reach 50 enterprises by 2020.
