“Supporting the pilot application of Food Safety Management System according to ISO 22000: 2005 standards for food processing enterprises” is one of the tasks under the project “Improving productivity and quality.” quality of products and industrial goods ”of the Ministry of Industry and Trade in 2017 and 2018. Asia Business Management & Development Consulting Co., Ltd. (AHEAD) is the unit in charge of this task.
According to AHEAD, in the past 2 years, the unit has consulted for 12 enterprises to build and apply ISO 22000: 2005 Management System. In which, there are 03 enterprises producing alcohol and alcoholic beverages, all groups of processed milk, beverage and confectionery.
The process of consulting on construction and application of ISO 22000: 2005 Management System in enterprises generally consists of 6 stages: 1) Survey assessing the situation; 2) Consultancy of layout and production equipment; 3) Training awareness on food safety and content of ISO standards; 4) Guidance on system construction and system application; 5) Training, internal assessment guidelines and internal audit organization and 6) Guidance on overcoming and improving the system. The time required for the construction and application process in these enterprises is from 6 to 12 months depending on the availability of infrastructure, human resources, product complexity and manufacturing process, etc.
A report on the performance of the Mission, representative of AHEAD, said: Awareness and views of businesses have been significantly improved and businesses are aware of the use of management standards and tools. to improve productivity and industry quality in general and maintain the sustainable development of the business in particular. From experience of implementing pilot models in 12 food processing enterprises, AHEAD proposes to continue researching and developing standard models for applying ISO 22000 for each manufacturing sector, such as processed milk and packaging. packaging of food, wine – beer – beverage, confectionery, etc. Models need to conduct in-depth study and make specific requirements and instructions applicable to each production sector. The emphasis is on emphasizing the specifics of the manufacturing industry, identifying critical processes, analyzing hazards, identifying critical control points, and establishing appropriate suited controls.
