With the desire to organize and maintain 5S activities throughout the company and enhance the image, Ton Dong A Joint Stock Company has participated in the program “Training, guiding the implementation of 5S practice in industry enterprises. “by Ministry of Industry and Trade and EPRO Consulting Joint Stock Company in 2017.
Before joining the program
Ton Dong A Joint Stock Company has sent its staff to participate in 5S training courses organized by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and assigned EPRO company in early 2017, since then known about the program of direct consultation support at the enterprise. and look forward to participating.
In 2012, enterprises implemented 5S practices but did not achieve the expected results. After being selected to participate in the program, the Board of Directors and the Consultant carried out a survey to assess the target and scope of application at the factory site. At the survey, the two sides assessed the status quo and identified the potential of implementing 5S at the enterprise and presented some outstanding issues such as:
– In the warehouse without aisles, many non-finished items are stored in the warehouse (wooden pallets, waste products, air conditioners, engines)
– At the Mechanical Workshop Many engines are not classified, there is no way to get the engine.
– At Galvanizing line: Many items to clutter near the electrical cabinet area, there are some signs and warnings.
Implementation
From the above situation, the Board of Directors and the Consultant agreed to bring the plant back to 5S activities through 6 steps of implementation:
– Step 1: Prepare: Determine 5S targets, scope of 5S application, 5S Board members
– Step 2: Launch: Prepare documents and train 5S for management team and company employees
– Step 3: Perform S1, S2, S3
– Step 4: Review and comment on the first 3S implementation, follow 2S instructions
– Step 5: Perform S4 and S5
– Step 6: Assess 5S implementation and prepare certification registration file
Results after 5S implementation
Evaluating the results of 5S good practice implementation, the representative of the company’s management said that the program has brought businesses specific benefits:
– Regarding visual management: the 5S slogan is hung at the factory, the line divides the area, arranges convenient working tools, identifies the labels at the shelves, arranges the products neatly at the warehouse.
– Regarding style and discipline: 5S goes into the company’s regulations: the company has issued a decision to set up a 5S board to define the responsibilities of members, make 5S diagrams that define responsibilities of specific individuals responsible for the 5S area, guidelines and guidelines are applied and implemented.
– Production management: 39 managers and employees have been trained in 5S. Company managers are capable of conducting 5S internal training for subordinate employees. Management and management board of the company perform 5S evaluation daily, send back good images every week to commend, the images are not good to promptly overcome.
– Other effects: screening and arrangement have helped offices and businesses to take advantage of 10% more working space.
– The rate of grade-1 products increases, the consumption of raw materials reaches the set target.
Ton Dong A Joint Stock Company received the Ministry of Industry and Trade’s certification of 5S good practice at the company in June 2018. At the end of the support project, the Board of Directors committed to continue maintaining and promoting 5S activities in the company to make the factory greener – cleaner – more beautiful.
