Rang Dong Long An Plastics applies ISO 22000: 2018 effectively

Rang Dong Long An Plastic Factory is the leading modern plastic packaging factory in the plastic packaging industry in Vietnam, with an investment of over US $ 32 million with a lot of machinery and equipment which are imported from Italy, Germany, Japan and South Korea such as: 8-color printers, 9 color printers, 12 colors printers, printing proofing machine, double head extrusion machine, roll testing machine, bag cutting machine, etc…

The factory has invested in facilities, equipment, technology production lines, human resources to integrated the Food Safety Management System ISO 22000: 2018 with Quality management (ISO 9001: 2015), and Environmental management system (ISO 14001: 2015), … to meet the requirements of internal management and customer requirements such as Nestle, Coca cola, Vinamilk, Friesland Campina … These systems, especially ISO 22000: 2018 system helps the factory control food safety risks for the packaging used for food packaging. The management system has helped manufacturing processes analyze hazards, identify risks, opportunities, critical control points, and devise appropriate control measures, preventing errors and losses. The percentage of returned shipments has decreased significantly compared to the time before applying ISO 22000: 2018.

When starting implementing ISO 22000, initially, the company has invited the consultant to co-operated with the task of “Replicating the application of Food Safety Management System (ISO 22000) into Vietnamese enterprises in 2018” of Project Project “Promoting productivity and quality activities” under the National Program “Enhancing productivity and quality of products and goods of Vietnamese enterprises by 2020” under the Decision No. 2805 / QD-BKHCN dated 17 October 10, 2017 by Ministry of Science and Technology.

The first activity when implementing ISO 22000: 2018 was focused on cognitive training; practical implementation guide in the factory. The subjects to be trained are not only managers but also all employees.

With the stringent requirements of the infrastructure of ISO 22000, Rang Dong Long An Plastic Joint Stock Company has designed a factory that fully meets the standards for the production of products in direct contact with food on an area of ​​more than 20000 m2, with a closed production process from input to output. Starting from April 2016, Rang Dong Long An Plastic Joint Stock Company currently has a total area of ​​17 hectares, total investment capital of 32 million USD, the number of manpower reaches 1,000 people. In particular, Sojitz Pla-Net Group of Japan is a strategic shareholder contributing 20% ​​of the shares, the remaining 80% of the shares belong to Rang Dong Plastic.

During the manufacturing process, Rang Dong Long An Plastic Factory focused on promoting auxiliary industrial products as input materials for other industries such as leatherette, thin plastic film, digital printing decal materials, laminating film … with the goal of welcoming the faux leather market, which is expected to increase by 30% in the coming years, along with the need to invest in modern technology lines operating in the environment of dehumidifying and heat gas to increase productivity and product quality.
