On April 2019, The 22nd anniversary of its founding was held in Quang Nam Power Company. On the past development journey, Quang Nam PC constantly endeavors to overcome difficulties, develop technical infrastructure, ensure safe and stable electricity supply, contributing to promoting socioeconomic development and life of people in the province.
Investment in technical infrastructure
Immediately after the re-establishment of Quang Nam province, on 1.4.1997 PC Quang Nam (formerly Quang Nam Electricity) was officially established. From the first days of operation, Quang Nam PC faced with great challenges: the source and grid system were severely lacking, the facilities were temporarily cramped and needy. At that time, the whole province had 6 mountainous districts without electricity. The medium-voltage grid managed by the electricity industry is less than 1,000 km; only 1 110kV and 8 substations 35kV and 600 TBA loads; 92 million kWh of commercial electricity, 12% of industrial production electricity. Those things put a lot of pressure on Quang Nam PC, including grid investment and management, operation and supply of electricity.
To fulfill the task, over the past 22 years, Quang Nam PC has done a good “bridge” between the local leaders and Central Region Power Corporation (EVN CPC), Electricity of Vietnam (EVN) in advising and deploying a number of major guidelines and projects between the locality and the electricity industry, especially investment in expanding technical infrastructure systems, timely supplying electricity for socioeconomic development. Besides the projects invested by the budget such as OPEC1, OPEC2, RE2, etc, the electricity industry also invested trillions of dong from projects of the WB, RE1, ADB, KFW, etc.. to build new and upgrade thousands kilometers of medium and low voltage lines; renovating the electricity grid system in rural areas, promptly meeting the electricity demand for key economic projects in the province. Up to now, Quang Nam PC manages the grid system which has been invested relatively synchronously and completely, with 10 110kV substations, 13 intermediate substations, 3,360 additional transformer stations, 7,300km of medium-low voltage lines and supply lines electricity for 380,000 households (98% of households). In 2018 alone, the commercial electricity supply for the whole province reached 1.8 billion kWh (an increase of 20 times compared to 1997), of which electricity for industry accounted for nearly 50% and hundreds of businesses used Using 50 – 100 million kWh / year. Besides meeting the demand for quantity, the industry has also improved its service requirements with better and better quality of electricity, the lowest time of blackout, and power loss reduced to below 5.09%.
Automation of operation management
Quang Nam has a high economic growth rate, the proportion of industry, construction and services accounts for more than 80% of the economic structure, so the demand for electricity to serve the economic development of Quang Nam is very high bid.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tuan – PC Director of Quang Nam said, in recent years, the unit prioritizes investment in information technology and telecommunications development and enhances the automatic monitoring and control system for the grid system electricity, remote measuring system; improve the reliability of the power grid and stable electricity supply for local socioeconomic development. A breakthrough in the management of Quang Nam PC is the operation of the Remote Control Center (DKTX) in operation. Investing in the construction of DKTX operating SCADA / DMS system is a strategic solution of Quang Nam PC to modernize the electrical grid, a basic step to control electrical equipment remotely, towards a 110kV unmanned substation. Currently, the center has implemented the connection of monitoring and surveying the export routes of the 22kV and 35kV buses of 4 110kV substations (Dai Loc, Ky Ha, Dien Nam – Dien Ngoc, Duy Xuyen) and 2 220kV substations (Thanh My, Tam Ky), as well as all 9 35 / 22kV intermediate TBAs and recloser breakers on the Quang Nam grid. This solution makes use of available resources and technology to increase the productivity of dispatchers at the Quang Nam PC & Computer Center as well as provide timely information to agents at the Customer Care Center. Central Power Corporation’s products, thereby improving the quality of electricity customer care services.
Investing and applying science and technology to improve efficiency and labor productivity, improve customer service quality is the central goal of Quang Nam PC. And the successful deployment of electronic invoices is also a big step in the application of information technology, with the support of customers of electricity. Quang Nam PC has also implemented many customer care services such as setting up a customer care website, SMS and email, tracking service of electricity consumption by telemetry technology (MDMS). The application of MDMS, information technology in this field has contributed to changing customers’ electricity usage behavior, making practical contributions to the trend of more efficient use of energy, etc.
