Positive results from the productivity and quality improvement project in Tuyen Quang province

The program to improve productivity and product quality of enterprises in Tuyen Quang province recently has many positive results.

In order to contribute to improving productivity and product quality of enterprises, since November 2014, Department of Standards, Metrology and Quality, has implemented the scientific topic “Research for improvement of productivity and product quality in some enterprises in Tuyen Quang province”.

In order to implement the topic, the research team has surveyed, investigated and assessed the status of laboratories of product and goods quality; investigate and survey 40 agencies, units and enterprises in the province to grasp the demand for product testing of enterprises and management agencies; investigate on productivity and quality of some products and goods in the province and choose to build an application model to improve productivity and quality of goods in 3 enterprises including: 27- 7 Co., Ltd in Tu Thinh commune (Son Duong); Tuan Hung Co., Ltd in Tu Thinh Commune (Son Duong) and Son Duong Sugar Joint Stock Company in Hao Phu Commune (Son Duong).

The Department guided and supported 27-7 Co., Ltd in Tu Thinh commune (Son Duong) to apply and maintain the quality management system ISO 9001-2008; Help the company build quality standards for 2 products. Currently, 100% of the company’s departments and workshops apply quality management system ISO 9001-2008. Crushed stone products of the company have the criteria of abrasion, compression resistance to reach TCVN 7570: 2006; Barite powder products meet API SPEC13A standards of American Petroleum Institute.

The company was granted the Certificate of QCVN 16: 2014/BXD by the Institute of Science and Technology (Ministry of Construction) – National technical regulation on construction materials products.

For Son Duong Sugarcane Joint Stock Company, the team has guided the company to build, apply and maintain the quality management system ISO 9001: 2008.  Son Duong Sugar Cane Joint Stock Company has been granted a certificate of conformity with the national standard TCVN 7968: 2008 – Sugar by the Quality Assurance and Testing Center 1 (Directorate for Standards and Quality)

According to Mr. Do Hong Thanh, Director of Tuyen Quang Department of Science and Technology, in the past years, science and technology activities have been promoted in the direction of focusing on the province’s socio-economic development programs. Some businesses have invested in new technology, production of products with high levels of science and technology, management innovation through the application of quality management systems according to national and international standards, creating quality products that are competitive in the market.

According to Mr. Thanh, the province’s business support programs have contributed to promote the application of scientific and technological advances, improving the productivity and quality of goods and products in enterprises. However, in order to improve competitiveness, businesses need to have a long-term business strategy, actively apply scientific and technological advances to production as well as investing in science and technology innovation to improve their capabilities and product quality.
