Becoming a market leader in Vietnam for automating petroleum depots and store system management software, in recent years, Petrolimex Informatics and Telecommunication Joint Stock Company (Piacom) has been constantly researching and applying using new technologies, helping enterprises in trading petrol and oil improve productivity and service quality for customers.

With the goal of striving to become a leading information technology and automation enterprise in the field of petroleum, in 2010, Piacom has built and successfully operated a quality management system according to ISO 9001: 2008 standards work. The system has about 70 processes, including project implementation model, asset procurement process, materials procurement, sales process built around business mechanism.

The first product using Piacom’s ISO 9001: 2008 quality management system is the K131 tank warehouse automation work of the B12 Petroleum Company. Accordingly, the system of 14 automated measurement devices brought into the K13 Tank Warehouse has brought about practical efficiency, providing instant and accurate data for production and business; data can be monitored continuously 24 / 24h on the computer. The system has helped enhance safety during export, import and storage of goods as well as early detection of leakage, leakage and perforation during storage or overflow, improper operation of technology when exporting import of goods. In particular, the use of an automatic level measurement system contributes to minimize labor waste for operating workers. Workers do not have to climb many times when moving goods; reduce labor toxicity by reducing time spent in contact with petrol; reduce the risk of work-related accidents while working at high altitudes without having to measure tanks at high frequency, especially in unfavorable weather, etc.

Since 2013, the company has invested in upgrading software development technology, using an advanced and specialized framework developed on open source platform to build ERP products under the brand of Piacom. Along with upgrading the quality management system to ISO 9001: 2015, the company implemented the application of a core competency framework (CCF), a system of performance evaluation indicators (KPI) building and operating Piacom information system software in corporate governance to improve labor productivity, increase competitiveness in the market.

Piacom’s expertise has resulted in a series of new products, with effective project management, contributing to the implementation of major government guidelines and meeting the increasing market demands. These include the following solutions: Mixing biofuels, self-service sales, automation of petrol stations using inverters, security cameras for petrol depots, electronic invoices for petrol and oil sales, printing sales receipts, electronic customs software for petroleum enterprises; online management of the petrol warehouse automation system, lubricant dispensing line, etc.
