Phu Tho Textile performs continuous improvement to reduce downtime

In 2019, Phu Tho Textile joins the TPM implementation support program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade. With the attention of the company leaders and the determination of the staff, the waste and losses have gradually revealed. In particular, the problem is that the leather loop jam at the workstation must close the processing machine – the problem occurred at the bottleneck of the yarn production line.

The data on the problem of the skin ring jam was recorded. The improvement team based on that data identified the priority area for improvement as the number 1 machine, workshop 3 due to the largest number of incidents in the month. Team goals are set for the whole group to work towards.

After understanding the problem, understanding the operating principles of the parts that often encountered problems, the whole group analyzed to find out the cause of the skin loop at number 1. Machine maintenance and operation staff. sit down to contribute ideas, find solutions.

The improvement actions are agreed and approved by the advisory board before implementation. After 2 months of investigating the problem, analyzing the root causes and implementing solutions, the improvement team reduced 96% of the number of skin tightness problems that occurred in machine number 1 – workshop 3. This result has been Exceeded expectations set upon group launch. In addition, the group also developed new standards such as rough thread instructions, 1 lesson note when cleaning the machine. These documents have been approved and issued for internal training for workstation area staff.

By strengthening the improvement activities in groups, the members of the company’s TPM board are trained and practiced analysis and improvement methods to improve the overall equipment performance of the whole line. As a result, employees have been improved in their autonomy, presentation ability, teamwork and above all, the cooperation between departments before and now there has been a significant improvement.
