Petroleum business: Application of technology 4.0

Petroleum is an important fuel for many manufacturing and transportation industries. The application of technology 4.0 in business and choosing reputable partners, providing good customer service is one of the factors that help businesses improve their competitive advantage.

Representatives of the first lubricant enterprises in Vietnam implemented the QR #ABC authentication code named “#ABC-#An protection center from Castrol”, castrol BP Petco from the beginning of 2019, Mr. Nguyen Nhu Hiep – Deputy General Director of Castrol BP Petco Co., Ltd. – said that the application not only meets the demand for high-end lubricant products, is inspected and quality assurance but also contributes to protecting the interests of consumers

QR #ABC code is applied by Castrol with advanced digital technologies to provide consumers with lubricant products to ensure accuracy. Car owners and talents easily conduct online authentication and check Castrol’s product information by using QR code scanning applications on smartphones (QR Code Reader app, Zalo, Facebook …) to scan #ABC QR code and follow the instructions on the screen or visit the website: http://www.connect.castrol.com.

Currently, the QR #ABC code is applied by Castrol on the lubricant product line for trucks including vecton, CRB Turbomax, CRB Multi & CRB with a capacity of 18L. In order to bring this advanced authentication technology closer to consumers, Castrol Vietnam has recently applied #ABC QR code on many product lines, promoting the improvement of quality and service, meeting the increasingly diverse needs of consumers. In addition to constantly improving technology, quality and product packaging, Castrol BP Petco will constantly apply advanced technology solutions to bring added value to customers. The introduction of #ABC QR code is the result of that continuous research and development process.

Grasping the trend of applying QR codes and smart mobile devices, Vietnam Oil Corporation (PVOIL) has boldly applied technology to build and develop its member customer management system called PVOIL Easy since 2019. PVOIL has edied with Viettel and Vietcom Bank to implement electronic payment application Viettel Pay, VCB Mobile Banking and 15 associated banks of Vietcom Bank to facilitate transactions and payment of customers.

The application of technology 4.0 in the petroleum business has been raised to a new level, when at the end of 2019, Petrolimex Group – the company with the largest petroleum market share in Vietnam – signed with Vietnam National Payment Joint Stock Company (Napas) to cooperate to promote non-cash settlement. Accordingly, Petrolimex and Napas focus on optimizing the experience of customers buying gasoline at Petrolimex petrol station system through contactless and contactless domestic card payment through Napas system; payment by QR code issued by the State Bank via the mobile application, payment intermediary service and e-wallet.

The link with modern business ecosystems and payment applications is considered as a step to concrete the strategy of diversifying services, increasing utilities for customers to buy petroleum. The Enterprises have the opportunity to innovate technology, change management methods and gradually reduce labor in petroleum trading points and management activities but still bring high efficiency in production and business.
