PC Bac Ninh: Grid management of technology

In recent years, together with many member power companies, Bac Ninh Power Company (PC) (Northern Power Corporation – EVNNPC) has promoted the management and operation of the power grid. This is considered one of the important steps in the roadmap of grid automation that EVNNPC set out.

Early detection of problems on the grid

With the aim of online monitoring the entire operation status of the grid, the load bearing situation of the MBA, real-time lines to improve the management, timely troubleshooting possible as well as identify the exact loss of each medium voltage line, from thasg 10/2018, PC Bac Ninh has implemented building a system to monitor the operation of the medium and low voltage grid in Bac Ninh province. After one year of implementation, the system has initially been effective.

The system collects, paired and remotely controlled 144 recliners, 8 RMU cabinets from the Control Center (TTK). Mediums mediated grids are also monitored, through conversion; more than 1.700 distant meters are collected and paired with event modules and 1 incident warning device on the mediums median grid of E-meter. In addition, the system has managed and monitored the medium voltage grid with real-time, operating parameters, operation status of equipment as well as warning of medium voltage grid incidents that the cutter or recloser impact cut; warning of line overload, branch overload, etc.

The completion of the construction of the medium and low voltage grid monitoring system has helped to improve the reliability of electricity supply of Bac Ninh province, ensuring the safety of people and equipment, reducing labor. At the same time, increase labor productivity by early detection of defects on the line to timely handle, improve customer service quality and management capacity.

Online monitoring with the Remote Control Center

Remote E-commerce was born to help monitor the entire operation status of the distribution grid of Bac Ninh province, from 110kV grid for medium voltage grid and substations (TBA) distribution; monitor the load bearing situation of MBA, axial lines, branch lines in real time on the 1-thread diagram. From there, help quickly and instantly know the power outage area, early detection of MBA overload and lines to take timely measures; control the closing and cutting operations on the remote grid quickly and reliably, bringing remarkable efficiency in the production, business and operation of the grid.

Currently, Bac Ninh has 19/19 TBA 110 kV put into operation under remote operation mode with on-site supervisor. In particular, 86 recliners connect the remote control to the SCADA system of the remote center with fiber optic cable. In order to meet the goal of grid automation set by EVNNPC, from 2019, PC Bac Ninh has implemented and replicated the model of applying hot power repair technology (Hotline) in the repair of ins ways and repair of the medium voltage grid. The advantage of this technology is to reduce the time of power outages; providing electricity continuously, improving service quality, satisfying customer satisfaction; meet the needs of inspection, maintenance, maintenance, replacement and connection of equipment without having to cut power; ensuring electricity supply reliability index, successfully completing production and business targets joint venture.
