Internal management is a key factor in helping Mini Gears maintain its innovative operations.
To strengthen internal management capacity, Mini Gears cooperated with Jounetsu Consulting to conduct training courses on 5S and lean production. In the spirit of “waste” as an enemy, equipment screening, sorting and standardization activities were carried out widely. Thereby, the Mini Gears’s workshop became more compact; machinery and equipment are also scientifically arranged to help users easily operate; waste of travel time; inventory and finished products are also significantly reduced compared to before implementation, etc.
Mini Gears’s service allows customers to receive goods every week, so a multitude of additional documents are created for each order. To overcome this problem, the company used Industrial Digital Technology (IDT) for paper management. Through the Big Data application and cloud computing, each computer is connected to an internal server and is equipped with a touch screen, allowing to look up the instructional process anytime, anywhere, at the same time providing the ability to update drawings, document quality and video about the machine setup process in real time.
Also thanks to the application, system failures can be detected and corrected early, reducing the cost burden of defective products as well as shortening setup, research and testing time.
Plus, to speed up internal processes, Mini Gears also uses Keyence to help with quality management. Before, the machined parts would normally take 10-15 minutes to test on CMMs by a QC staff, but now they can be checked by the operator on Keyence in seconds. Because Mini Gears produces 24 hours a day continuously, the reduced set-up and shutdown times have greatly improved the machine’s performance.
Mini Gears’s management also said that manufacturing according to the stringent AS9100D standards has helped the company become a reputable supplier of high-tech precision products, typically aviation components. space or defense service.
Thanks to the determination to change, the success of Mini Gears not only met customers’ requirements but also helped the company win 17 great awards for excellent production units, and was also enrolled with MVP awards on the Category: Best Subcontractor – Best Outsourcing Partner and Supply Chain Partner.
