Maximize and optimize production with Tebis CAD/CAM

APH3G located in Benfleet, Essex, offers a complete range of vacuum formed products, fibreglass mouldings, rim moulding with machining, assembly, prototypes, jigs and fixtures.

APH3G purchased Tebis CAD/CAM software for its production in April 2018, enabling improved cycle times and much greater control over its machines than ever before.

With approximately 30 employees, APH3G was formed in 2006, although its parent company AP Hollings, is a vacuum forming manufacturer and fibreglass moulder originally founded as a patternmaking company by Arthur Pollard Hollings more than 60 years ago.

Andy Hollings, director, explains why the company chose Tebis: “Upon looking at various companies and the packages they offered, we found Tebis to be very user friendly, with the technical capabilities being perfect for our requirements.”

Martin Cork, engineering director, adds: “Tebis CAD/CAM software helps us to produce the precision components to tight deadlines while producing high precision parts.”

Mr Cork continues to explain that before the company purchased Tebis CAD/CAM, it used to trim components manually and this was very time consuming. As a result the company decided that it was the right time to invest and automate its CAD/CAM processes.

APH3G first bought a trim license in April 2018. A few months later, it added another module for pattern machining. Around the middle of 2019, it invested in a second Tebis license for pattern machining.

Mr Cork says: “The software allows us to save time in production through its Virtual Machining technology resulting in much greater control over our machines. A real benefit is the fact we are able to see a collision before it actually happens.

“What I like about Tebis software is that it is quick and easy to use; we are surprised at how quickly we were able to use the software after just a few days training. The support has also been exemplary – Tebis CAD/CAM software will certainly be instrumental in our future expansion plans.”
