Since the 1980s of the twentieth century, the concept of 5S (5S methodology) has been known in Japan. By definition 5S is Seiri (Screening for unnecessary things in the workplace and discarded), Seiton (Sort things neatly to be easy to find, easy to see, easy to take), Seiso (Clean the equipment, tools and workplaces), Seiketsu (Take care of the workplace by always doing the 3S above) and Shitsuke (Willing to educate and train people to do 4S on a voluntary basis).
Good practice 5S is a platform tool that helps organizations improve their productivity and minimize waste. The implementation of 5S has brought many benefits, such as: creating a scientific, clean and tidy working environment, thereby improving productivity, work efficiency and convenience for receiving. the waste to take measures to minimize the waste etc.
From the above benefits, after implementing 5S successfully from previous years, Da Nang Power Company has a plan to continue implementing the program “Good 5S Practice for the period of 2019-2020”. To implement the 5S program at the workplace is not only the determination of the Company’s leaders, but also the determination, effort and awareness of the implementation of the employees in the Company.
Therefore, the Company has organized many activities to spread the program to its employees such as training for employees in the scope of 5S implementation, so that they can grasp the principles as well. like manipulating practice in the workplace. Thereby, employees in the Company can fully apply the 5S Good Practice Regulations.
The start of the program launch is the overall sanitation initiative in the workplace. Here, the Company’s staff has prepared all the necessary tools and means to carry out the screening, sorting unnecessary items, rearranging the surrounding equipment scientifically.
As planned, Da Nang Electricity will continue to implement the steps of “Screening – Sorting – Clean”. The Board of Directors of the Company will simultaneously apply visual management methods in working areas within the scope of 5S implementation. This will help all employees in the Company try to perform the tasks set out, towards the common goal of: Convenient – Accurate – Fast – Safe – Clean and beautiful. At the same time, ask the units to perform well, regularly improve the Screening, Arrangement, and Clean activities in the area under the 5S responsibility of the unit, ensuring that all units will meet the requirements in 2020 is rated A according to the 5S good practice criteria of the Company.
