In the process of mechanical machining, the jigs to clamp the details, ensuring the machining stability are extremely important. Such clamping and clamping tools are called vents. Currently, many manufacturers are developing their own cars to help improve production capacity.
A typical example is the Garant Xtric clamping device researched and developed by the German Hoffman Group. In contrast to traditional veneers, Grant Xtric is capable of offering a variety of joint sizes (fixed and mobile) depending on the size of the workbench.
“The new Garant Xtric is suitable for gripping both finished workpieces and parts,” said Charlie Slagle, President & CEO of Hoffmann Group in the US. In addition, the limit on the chuck contact surface (usually the flat surface) has been eliminated, so the operator can save 50% of the time when setting up”.
Another factor that also saves significantly on delivery time when using Garant Xtric: The clamp change can be completed in just 8 seconds thanks to the click mechanism. The top pin will be attached to the door joint and then pressed down with the spring plates, in this way the user can easily adjust the clamping force without affecting the motor tolerance. The adjustment distance between the two chuck can be reached from 0-144mm. 5/10mm (1mm for total displacement) adjustable clamping center each side with spacing on the main shaft; After the screw is removed, the clamp center is adjusted by the pin spanner. When all stages are completed, the screw will be reattached to ensure operation.
Besides, the device’s upper jaw can be replaced or rotated 180 degrees manually without the use of any tools. For this application, the top jaws are fitted in a dove-tail shape and pushed down through two spring plates until they fit together. There is no need to remove and re-thread the spindle nut. With this unique “press and clamp” system, Garant Xtric can significantly reduce installation costs.
Also thanks to the ability to rotate the upper jaw, Garant Xtric offers exceptionally large clamping ranges from 0 to 144 millimeters in the case of the 80S model and 0 to 194 millimeters in the case of the 80M model. An additional model with jaw width of 125 mm will be released soon. All models are available with rotating function.
Overall, Grant Xtric’s flexible design will help manufacturers speed up production intensity while ensuring the stability of the workbench, while saving a lot of time and setup costs.
