Innovations promote productivity and quality in the business

That is the judgment of Dr. Tran Dac Hien at the seminar “Statistical results of innovation in enterprises and the proposal to improve the statistics of innovation in Vietnam”, held last August.

Speaking at the seminar, Director of the National Agency for Science and Technology Information (Ministry of Science and Technology) – PhD. Tran Dac Hien said: “Innovation is an indispensable premise and decisive to productivity, quality, competitiveness of businesses and the whole economy.”

According to TS. Tran Dac Hien, statistical work, gathering information to fully assess the state of innovation of Vietnamese enterprises contributes to timely supply of information to the State management agencies in making policies and strategies. Strategic orientation and business support to promote innovation to constantly improve productivity, quality, competitiveness of the business as well as the entire economy.

At the seminar, the delegates also shared and discussed the issue of turning innovation in businesses in Vietnam. Besides, it provides a model of investigation and testing to collect information on scientific and technological evaluation and measurement and innovation for domestic enterprises.

Regarding the results of innovation statistics, it can be seen that the proportion of Vietnamese enterprises in innovation is quite high compared to many countries selected for comparison such as: France, Finland, Netherlands, Russia, Korea, etc. While the GDP per capita of our country is much lower than the above countries.

Innovation in general and statistical work of innovation in particular is very important, has been interested in developing countries for a long time. However, in Vietnam, this work has not been properly cared for.
