Innovating in Quang Hanh coal to improve production efficiency

Implementing the policy of innovation and strongly promoting scientific research – technology, application of mechanization and automation in production and business stages has helped Than Quang Hanh Company – Vinacomin improve productivity, quality and stabilize production.

In the period from 2015 to 2019, Than Quang Hanh Company has invested more than VND 1,650 billion to implement key projects for production and purchase of new machinery and equipment applying new technologies in mining stages, transportation, screening and processing. Up to now, 100% of the Company’s mining and mining workshops have been hydrated and mechanized. In particular, the kiln area is currently mechanized drilling stages (with tamrock machines); excavator (ZCY machine, XD-032); transportation of materials and equipment, soil, rock and coal (conveyors B-650, B-800, JPB rakes), etc. These are all advanced equipment and lines in the field of coal mining today. Thanks to modern machinery and equipment applied to the production and exploitation stage, the Company has significantly increased labor productivity, minimized risks in mining activities and reduced labor costs, etc.

Whereby, the Company also invested in 10 additional construction lines to meet the need of increasing the progress of anchorage meter according to the plan assigned by the Corporation. From 2015-2019, the Company excavated more than 7,300m of anchorage. In 2019 alone, the Company excavated more than 3,860m of anchorage, reaching 206% of the plan, thereby contributing to speeding up the construction progress of the kiln, reducing production costs, improving working conditions and ensuring safety for workers.

At the same time, the Board of Directors of the Company also launched the movement of technical innovations in the unit, with the aim of bringing in many useful topics to contribute to building an increasingly modernized working environment and developing more. The movement has attracted many participating topics, many applications have been applied and brought socio-economic benefits to the working environment for the Company. The company has put the fully mechanized exploitation system into operation, applying the mobile hydraulic rack-mounted chain link; successfully applied the market furnace with the fractional frame price ZH 1,600 / 16 / 24F, etc. Thanks to those continuous efforts, Quang Hanh coal always completed the business and production plan set out. In the 2015-2019 period, the total output of raw coal exploited by the unit was more than 7.89 million tons, an increase of 38% compared to the 2010-2014 period. In 2019 alone, the Company exploited more than 1.73 million tons of raw coal. The Company’s revenue from coal reached more than VND 15,800 billion, an increase of 59% compared to the period 2010-2014. In 2020, the Company strives to exploit 1.6 million tons of coal.

In the period 2020-2021, Quang Hanh coal Company will invest more than 421 billion VND to renovate technology and upgrade deep sorting for Lep My coal screening factory (more than 243 billion VND); centralized automation and control system (over VND 31.1 billion); hydraulic frame price for anti-furnace portable hydraulic frame from -175m to -300m of Nga Hai coal mine (66 billion VND. The project, when put into operation, will help Quang Hanh Coal Company to improve exploitation output, increase productivity, and improve working environment for employees.
