From the beginning of 2019, the Company applies the 5S tool, until the second half of the year applies the TPM tool. This is a favorable roadmap because the application of 5S helps greatly support quality and productivity management tools.

The pilot program of applying TPM supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade at Hai Phong Paint Joint Stock Company No. 2 taking place within 4 months from August to December 2019 has brought certain effects. 2 product codes calibration time has been shortened. Each time converting from one product to another, it takes about 2-3 times to convert to the correct color, now it has been reduced to 1-2 times, equipment cleaning time is standard. chemical, eliminating redundant operations, eliminating unnecessary color correction transport distances, adding tools and tools convenient for workers’ manipulation. With those efforts, the Company’s OEE increased from 36% in August to 40% in November.

The Company’s electromechanical division also recorded positive changes when collecting incident data to calculate average repair time (MTTR) and time between failures ( MTBF) has started to be applied, the electromechanical department staff has been more open to recording and storing data for better machine management instead of always having to passively troubleshoot problems.

Improvement activities at Son Hai Phong No. 2 received the attention of the company’s leaders. The company organizes monthly 5S reviews and improvement reviews after the end of the pilot TPM program. The improvement evaluation board consists of the following members: General Manager, Production Manager, Technical Director and Head of M&E department to score and reward improvement topics.
