Huong Sen Packaging Company starts the TPM program at the carton packaging factory

Huong Sen Packaging Company Limited is a member of Huong Sen Group – one of the typical units of Thai Binh province. The company operates in the field of manufacturing carton packaging and PP woven packaging with a team of skilled workers and employees and well-invested machinery and equipment. In 2020, Huong Sen Packaging participates in the program guiding the implementation of TPM – Maintaining comprehensive productivity supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade with the aim of improving productivity and quality of products and goods.

The kick-off of the TPM program was held on September 17, 2020 with the participation of the company’s Board of Directors including Ms. Tran Thi Hoai – General Director and Factory Manager, in addition to the related departments. such as: administration – personnel, quality, maintenance, staff in charge and staff directly operating the wave machine and printer area. The leaders and staff of the factory have shown great determination to improve and change to enhance competitiveness in the market and set up a full-time TPM Board right in the working day, assign specific tasks to any members.

During this meeting, members of the TPM Board were introduced by the Consultant about general concepts when implementing TPM, specific goals that the factory wants to achieve when attending the program. In addition, some indicators assessing overall equipment performance and quality of maintenance and maintenance activities such as: OEE, MTBF, and MTTR were instructed for the participants. In particular, the OEE index was unanimously selected for measurement at 5-color printers and 6-color printers because this is the bottleneck position of the entire production line.

In order for the members of the TPM Committee to understand the meaning of the indicators, in addition to providing the theory and calculation formula, the group was practiced to calculate the OEE index and specifically explain each component, the impact factor to the trend of the outcome. The production data collection schedule is quickly built and put into practice to collect data and evaluate the results weekly. For employees who work shifts, teams that have not yet been able to attend the kick-off session have been listed to organize internal training on September 18, 2020. Based on the collected data, the company gradually followed up and analyzed more deeply to make suitable quality and productivity improvement activities in the coming time.
