The company has participated in the TPM program supported by the Ministry of Industry and Trade since 2019 with 3 main focus pillars: autonomous maintenance, planned maintenance and key improvement.
After a period of implementation, the company has recorded a number of positive results in raising workers’ awareness in basic equipment management, improving the time to change codes at 9 color printers.
On the self-governing maintenance pillar, company workers have begun to build awareness and skills to identify abnormal spots on equipment, take notes on abnormalities and proactively handle abnormalities. If the equipment is abnormal or damaged, the operator can not handle it by himself.
During the consulting process, the consultant trained in self-management maintenance for the staff of the first blow, print, joint, collage, roll division parts in October 2019 and re-training in June 2020. The training sessions are divided into 2 parts, part 1: Rapid theory training in 20 minutes and part 2: Practice of taking notes in 20 minutes. The collage department is currently the best performing team for autonomous maintenance pillar.
Regarding the planned maintenance pillar, the company collected production data to calculate OEE, MTBF and MTTR indicators. However, the company’s maintenance team is new and in the time to get used to the job. Therefore, in the coming time, the company does not focus on evaluating and improving the indicators, but heads to standardize manuals for the maintenance department to slowly improve the capacity of its maintenance.
Regarding the key innovation pillar, the company has been implementing a number of improvement projects to reduce product conversion time at 9-color printers; Reduce the amount of glue remaining and must be discarded in the draw frame area; Improved communication flow between planning, warehouse and production 3 departments; Reducing customer complaints related to product quality problems and reducing the percentage of raw materials going wrong when going into coating machines. In the immediate future, the project of reducing the switching time at the 9-color printer has had positive results, the remaining projects have been and continue to be deployed, expected to evaluate the results in August 2020.
