Ho Chi Minh City: More than 800 businesses are supported with quality productivity and innovation

Despite being the first year of implementation, the program has provided counseling and coaching for 805 businesses with 2,023 participants.

2017 is the first year the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Quality Metrology and Quality Control (under the Department of Science and Technology of Ho Chi Minh City) has implemented a program to support businesses  in quality productivity and innovation in the form of task selection in science and technology.

Thereby, businesses and intermediaries can meet, exchange needs and propose specific implementation contents derived from the needs of the science and technology market, attracting a variety of resources to participate in.

The Sub-Department received 25 applications with initial funding from the State of nearly VND 36 billion with the tasks of Training, Consulting, and Supporting Online Training Materials with the participation of 13 consultancy training organizations and enterprises. The goal is to support 3,744 businesses.

To consider and select scientific and technological tasks, the Sub-department has set up 6 Selection Councils. Results after selection: 22 tasks for assessment of Dat and 3 tasks for failure.

The department has signed 14 contracts in 2017, corresponding to a budget of over 11 billion dong. The number of enterprises having been supported with consultancy and training of 805 enterprises/2,023 turns of people. Beneficiaries include businesses of: Mechanical; Electricity, electronics, information technology; Pharmaceutical chemistry rubber; Processing refined food and foodstuffs; Other industries; Service.

The program has been enthusiastically responded by businesses and brought about practical benefits, helping businesses to better understand and apply more advanced management systems and quality productivity improvement tools. and innovation to create momentum for development. Thereby helping businesses improve competitiveness in the domestic market and internationally.

In 2018, the Sub-Department will continue to support the units that signed the contract or were selected by the Council with advisory contents such as HACCAP, ISO 9001, ISO 17025, branding …. and training content. In addition, to be able to evaluate program effectiveness in an objective, effective and professional manner, the Sub-Department will organize the program effectiveness evaluation through a third party organization.
