Harco: Stripping thanks to ISO 9001: 2015

With the successful transformation of the quality management system ISO 9001: 2008 to the new version ISO 9001: 2015, products of Hanoi Rubber Joint Stock Company (Harco) gradually improve the competitiveness on market.

As one of 36 enterprises participating in the program “Support to transform the quality management system ISO 9001: 2008 to the new version ISO 9001: 2015 for industry enterprises” by the Vietnam Productivity Institute chaired the implementation, Harco determined to apply ISO 9001: 2015 synchronously, effectively, aiming to build trust with customers.

In the history of establishment and development, since 1994, company has focused on quality management through the construction of a quality management system according to the ISO 9001: 1994 with the desire to provide the best quality products for customers. In 2017, Harco has a policy of expanding production scale to Hung Yen with the first goal of improving the modern quality management system, conducting ISO conversion.

The project was implemented within 3 months with the consulting and support of experienced experts from Vietnam Productivity Institute. The process of implementation at Harco includes the main stages: Assessing the situation; training to update general awareness and new content according to ISO 9001: 2015; implementing quality management system, internal assessment, etc.

Mr. Pham Hong Viet – Harco Director – said that applying ISO 9001: 2015 has helped company detect the inappropriate point in production and business process, thereby conducting improvement measures to improve the quality and efficiency. Specifically, company has reviewed and reduced from 13 to 8 processes; Manual document from 24 to 15 . Thanks to that, employees are easy more in approaching and implementing ISO 9001: 2015. The transition to the new version also helps Harco build a risk management system and integrate ISO 31000 in the process of identifying and evaluating environmental aspects. “Company is more proactive in identifying, evaluating and having ways to handle risks if any” – Mr. Pham Hong Viet shared.

After a successful transition, Harco’s Board of Directors is committed to continuing maintain and improve the quality management system; At the same time, focus on training staff, especially auditors (even changes in personnel) to raise awareness and how to implement the system. In addition, maintaining in application of other improved tools and systems such as ISO 14001: 2015 and 5S with the aim of improving quality productivity, improving customer satisfaction.
