Ha Tinh: Applying modern technology to reduce production costs

Thanks to the support from the industrial promotion program, many rural industrial enterprises in the province have brought science and technology into production, increasing the competitiveness in the market.

From the national industrial promotion fund, Ha Tinh Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion provided VND 800 million for Hai Ha Service Cooperative (Loc Ha district) to invest in modern machinery in ship repair. The new equipment system has been put into production, helping the cooperative repair ships and boats with a tonnage of 2,000 tons instead of only repairing ships and boats with a tonnage of 400-500 tons as before. According to the beneficiary representative, the application of modern technology not only helps the cooperative improve its repair capacity, but also helps stabilize production, has a revolving fund to continue investing in facilities.

Hai Ha Service Cooperative is just one of many enterprises, rural industrial production establishments in the province are supported by industrial promotion funding and have obtained satisfactory results. According to data from Ha Tinh Department of Industry and Trade, from 2014 to 2018, the Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion has developed and implemented 8 projects to build production demonstration models with implementation budget is VND 2,265 billion. The projects attracted 108,469 billion VND reciprocal fund from beneficiaries, creating jobs for 250 employees. The Center also supported 47 facilities to apply advanced machines and equipment to production, to evaluate cleaner production for 5 enterprises, total implementation cost of 7,301 billion VND.

Mr. Nguyen Manh Tuong – Director of Ha Tinh Industry Promotion and Trade Promotion Center – said: With the co-operation of the industrial promotion program, investment in machinery and new equipment of rural industrial enterprises in the province The province has markedly prospered. Industrial encouragement funding has stimulated businesses to invest in depth to create good quality products, which are trusted by consumers. In addition, with the application of cleaner production measures, rural industrial enterprises significantly reduce production costs and minimize waste discharge into the environment.

Although Ha Tinh has many favorable conditions for industrial development due to its seaport, it is difficult for industrial production in rural areas to take advantage of this strength. The reason is that industrial production in rural areas is mostly done by small and micro enterprises, the capacity of capital as well as economic development is still very limited. Most businesses invest in old equipment and machinery, not eligible for support from industrial promotion.

In order to overcome obstacles to capital for enterprises, in the coming years, Ha Tinh industrial promotion center will prioritize capital as well as orient businesses to invest more modern technologies in production. In 2019, the center will coordinate with units to support 10 enterprises and rural industry establishments to build technical demonstration models; application of advanced machinery, equipment, modern technology lines into production; support implementation of industrial cleaner production application for establishments.

Along with that, the Department of Industry and Trade of the province will mobilize maximum resources to invest in manufacturing rural industry; integrate industrial promotion with other national target programs to increase funding for the program; mobilize capital from enterprises and production establishments for production and business development.
