Great efficiency from technological innovations

With the passion of creativity, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, deputy director of Long Hai Limited Liability Company (Hai Duong province) has made efforts and persevered in successful study “The system of automatic packaging of vegetable juice”.

The initiative since its adoption in production has brought a pronounced effect, not only to improve productivity, product quality but also to improve the working environment for employees at the company.

About 2 years ago, the workshop of vegetable water packaging of Long Hai Limited Liability Company with 134 employees. For many years in the engineering department of the company, Mr. Tuan noticed with the development of digital technology, automation lines are more and more applications in factories and enterprises. Meanwhile, at the company where he works, stitch packaging is still handmade with rudimentary labor equipment, workers working in hot environment, difficult food safety conditions.

“How to improve technology, improve competitiveness for businesses, catch up with the current modern trend in the Industrial Revolution the fourth time” is the question that made him engineer born in 1981 from the Polytechnic University of many years. In 2017, Mr. Tuan was determined to embark on the research on technological innovation in the direction of automation of the packaging line. Finding system use by the original and cumbersome import robot, he studied and designed the German engine to make the robot perform the automatic packaging stage, which reduced costs.

He shared: “Initially, we had many difficulties to put automation into the workshop because that time, according to our understanding, the world does not have any plant using robots to pack products of the same kind. However, the company’s leadership supports maximum time, funding, manpower and equipment best, ultimately, I and the technical staff have completed the solution after 2 years of searching, testing”.

In 2019, the installation of the system into the workshop was perfected, the system used robots and large size control screens, easy to use. Instead of manually doing the previous craft, the product is now convened by a conveyor from the factory filling straight into the system conveyor. Workers just need to monitor products on the conveyor to remove the hotel, goods error. After automatic stamping, the product continues to move on the conveyor belt, to the robotic step with the function of the product wires from conveyors, compact to the barrel, pass the automatic barrel stamping machine and up the warehouse.

Technological enhancements have brought a pronounced change. Labour in the packaging division now has only 52 people instead of the previous 134. Product yield has increased to 125 barrels/person/CA instead of 48 barrels/person/CA the time is also packaged by manual methods. The amount of products on the warehouse is stable, production is maintained continuously, not dependent on the weather, seasonality.

In particular, when applying this initiative, the product has little direct contact with employees so the level of food safety and hygiene increased, the quality control of the product is also better. The initiative on not only decreased workers’ labor but is expected to save businesses for about 7.6 billion per year in subsequent years.

The technical improvement initiative of Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan when applied to manufacturing practices of enterprises has been highly appreciated by the company’s leadership. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh, chairman of the Board of Management of Long Hai Limited liability company said: “The system of automatic packaging of vegetable juice has helped our business have a new development step. Not only reduces the number of employees in the packaging division whose labor productivity doubles and the stability of the product is higher. At the same time, the company also leverages factory area”.

In particular, born in the context of the market of vegetable jelly products there are many potential in the country and region so the solution is very important, in accordance with the development strategy of the company. “Here, when deploying more factories in other places, we will apply automatic packaging technology to put labor productivity up, reduce the price, serve consumers better,” he became asserted.

The owner of the initiative “automatic packaging system of jelly fishing” in Long Hai Company is also known as the enthusiastic and responsible for all activities and movements of the company union. Thanks to the efforts to strive, explore, learn and initiatives to contribute to enterprises, many years, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan has received the title of Good Labor, the title of the outstanding union membership by the company union. Recently, he was honored with “creative labor” by the Vietnamese Federation of Labor in 2019.
