For the first time, the Ministry of Industry and Trade holds the Energy Efficiency Product Award in 2020

The Ministry of Industry and Trade has just issued Decision No. 588 / QD-BCT approving the Regulation on Award for Highest Energy Efficiency Products in 2020.

This is the first time the Ministry of Industry and Trade has organized an award related to energy efficiency products, clearly demonstrating the ministry’s desire to promote the trend of consuming green products, saving energy, according to the right direction of the National Action Program on Sustainable Production and Consumption to 2020, with a Vision to 2030, approved by the Prime Minister.

The participants of the Award are all enterprises of all economic sectors, registered for business in accordance with Vietnamese law, and produce and trade in vehicles and equipment using energy in the groups. The products are regulated in Decision No. 04/2017 / QD-TTg dated March 9, 2017 of the Prime Minister stipulating the list of vehicles and equipment subject to energy labels, applying maximum energy efficiency and minimization implementation schedule.

Products registered for competition must be domestically produced, processed or imported according to the current provisions of Vietnamese law. Products must have the highest level of energy efficiency defined by national standards (TCVN) or international standards for energy efficiency and criteria announced by the award-winning Technical Council.

In addition, products must have modern and environmentally friendly production technology; has the ability to produce and sell widely in the market; as well as complying with the provisions of Vietnamese law on quality control, safety and fire prevention.

After 2 rounds of preliminary and final judging, the Award Technical Council will select the enterprise with the product with the highest energy efficiency criteria.

The enterprise will be awarded a Cup of Leaders by the Ministry of Industry and Trade and its products will be certified and labeled with the highest energy efficiency. This is an energy label issued and announced annually by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for products and equipment on the market that meet or exceed the high energy efficiency (HEPS) level prescribed by the Ministry from time to time, on the basis of the award proposal of the Technical Council.

The highest energy efficiency brand is issued together with QR code, serving information information on products, which is fully displayed and publicly displayed on the website of the Ministry of Industry and Trade.

It is expected that the kick-off ceremony will take place in March 2020.

In the context that energy-labeled products are increasingly popular in the market, gaining the trust of consumers, the Ministry of Industry and Trade organizes the Award for Highest Energy Efficiency Products in 2020. This is one of the many communication activities of VNEEP 3 Program, to honor businesses with low-energy products supplying the Vietnamese market, promoting production, importation and consumption of high-performance, friendly with environment.
