On January 22, 2019 in Hanoi, a workshop on “Optimizing resources through solutions to improve productivity for business development and adaptation to change” took place with the participation of nearly 100 representatives from industrial manufacturing enterprises.
The event is one of the tasks under the project “Improving productivity and quality of industrial products and goods”, chaired by the Ministry of Industry and Trade assigned to Vietnam Institute of Productivity for execution.
Speaking at the opening of the workshop, Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoan – Deputy Director of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Trade said, “Implementing the project to improve the productivity and quality of industrial products and goods by the Prime Minister. approved in Decision No. 604/QD-TTg dated May 22, 2012, in the period of 2012 up to now, the Ministry of Industry and Trade actively implemented many specific activities such as propaganda and awareness raising for enterprises; Training and capacity building for improvement activities at enterprises”.
“In particular, many pilot models apply advanced and modern quality management systems and productivity tools that have been consulted on construction and application, etc. These activities, on the one hand, have brought practical effects for the goal of improving productivity, product quality, and ability to participate in global supply chains, on the other hand become vivid examples, promote the movement to improve productivity and quality in enterprises of the industry”, Mr. Hoan emphasized.
With the goal, information, sharing results, experiences on quality improvement and business development, delegates heard the reports, presentations to share experiences and achievements of enterprises in the process of developing ISO 9001: 2015 of Hanoi Rubber Joint Stock Company; Lean 6 Sigma of Rang Dong Thermos Bottle Joint Stock Company and COSMOS Technology Company Limited. In which all businesses have the same idea to increase labor productivity and product quality, enterprises must maximize all their resources: Improving the quality of human resources, applying the system management tools, productivity improvements such as ISO, SA, TPM, Kaizen, Lean 6 Sigma, KPI, 5S, technological innovation, etc.
The workshop also received many opinions of enterprises during the implementation process and was answered by experts from Vietnam Productivity Institute, in particular, the consultancy unit assigned by the Ministry to perform the tasks under the project. Supporting businesses to improve the above-mentioned productivity and quality is an opportunity to convey, share results and experience on improving productivity and business development.
