Enterprises actively improve productivity and product quality by applying 5S

Bao Minh Confectionery Joint Stock Company is a traditional Vietnamese culinary manufacturer with products available throughout the domestic market, this is also the first confectionery company in Vietnam to meet export conditions exported to Newzealan market. According to a representative of Bao Minh, the company always tries and focuses on improving the quality of products before launching them, thereby opening up a high opportunity for Bao Minh’s confectionery products in particular and products Vietnamese confectionery in general.

In order to create a clean and tidy working environment, helping employees to work hard and avoiding wasting time, materials and effort in the production process. On February 29, 2020, the 5S implementation program was launched throughout the company and received a great response from all employees.

In order for the program to be highly effective, the company has issued 5S regulations to clearly define the responsibilities, powers and roles of each individual in the 5S Board. In addition to propaganda, launching emulation movement, the company also set up a jury board to evaluate the results of the 5S program with 5 criteria: screening, arranging, clean will, take care of, be ready in the form of scoring and rewarding collectives and departments with outstanding achievements.

5S Board has conducted a field survey, assessing 5S implementation situation in all departments and divisions throughout the company in the spirit of:

+ Screening: Sorting and relocating unnecessary items and equipment that can be sold or reused.

+ Sort: After having eliminated unnecessary items, organize the remaining items effectively according to the criteria of easy to find, easy to see, easy to take, easy to return.

+ Cleanliness: Regularly clean, keep the workplace clean, organize overall hygiene and organize daily hygiene of items and work areas.

+ Caring: Always check, maintain 3S above. By developing the S4, 3S activities will be gradually improved based on the standards set out and progressed to the completion of 5S.

+ Ready: Train, create a habit, order, style for everyone in implementing 5S.

After a period of implementing the 5S movement at the company, there have been significant changes, employees have aroused self-awareness at work, a clean and tidy working environment to ensure employees’ health, 5S has helped form good work habits for employees.
