Kaizen philosophy has been widely and successfully applied in Japanese companies over the past 50 years, greatly contributing to the development of each business as well as the entire Japanese economy. In Vietnam, Kaizen is also becoming more and more familiar and becoming a guideline for many businesses to help businesses improve and improve quality productivity.

More than 5 billion VND of added value is the amount that Vietnam Engine and Agricultural Machinery Corporation (VEAM) got thanks to Kaizen movement. Applying Kaizen has brought about fundamental changes for businesses such as Southern Engine and Agricultural Machinery Co Ltd (SVEAM), which has invested FMS line with a total cost of more than VND 50 billion DMG Mori. However, according to the technological process of the company ordering the technology of the company ordering industrial support, it can only produce 900 sets of sewing machine body products per month (producing 3 shifts) etc. With such output, it is not enough to depreciate the investment of FMS line, SVEAM has made continuous improvements to change the processing technology that the company orders. Up to now, the output of 1,700 sets of body/month/line of FMS has been ensured to be fully depreciated and profitable. In 2019, SVEAM aims to produce 2,000 sets of body sets per month. This is one of the great effects that Kaizen brings to the business.
Meanwhile, VEAM Foundry Factory since August 2018 has improved waste treatment, waste reuse, and improved import and export of goods to help bring the newly invested automatic casting line. It operates at full capacity for 3 shifts / day, meeting production requirements for export of the Hyosung Company (Korea). The company has applied the regulations on labor safety and the environment, and introduced improvements to treat the slag after casting, of which one part is used for making unburnt bricks and the other is being reused. Using as a semi-automatic fresh sand die casting, this year’s preliminary estimate, Kaizen has benefited billions of dong for VEAM Casting Factory, etc.
Or the success of Nam Ha Garment Joint Stock Company after deploying a Kaizen improvement project. After 6 months of implementation, the Company has reduced the rate of defective goods from 8.8% to 8.1%; reducing 25% of inventory on the line; inventories compared to production capacity decreased from an average of 2.37 days to 1.34 days; it is accompanied by an average increase of 415 products/day to 899 products/day.
