Effectiveness from the program to support businesses to improve product quality

Recently, Binh Duong province has implemented many projects and programs to improve productivity and quality of goods for enterprises, thereby contributing to help businesses improve production and business efficiency, affirmed its name in the market.

Improve quality, save costs

Pottery is a long-time traditional handicraft in Binh Duong, and most of the products are traditionally produced. The development of technology requires ceramic manufacturing enterprises to change machinery and equipment to meet practical needs. Mr. Tran Chanh Tin, Head of Quality Control Department, Cuong Phat Co., Ltd. said, the Program of productivity and quality improvement by the Department of Science and Technology and Sub-Department of Quality Measurement has helped the company choose the best solution to improve production efficiency with low cost of investment.

In the process of implementing the program, Cuong Phat Company has applied 5S and kaizen, helping the company save more than 2.5 billion VND. “Through the application of kaizen, the company has improved the kiln, recovering land from sludge. Thus, every year the company saved more than 600 million dong of burning material costs, saved an average of nearly 26 million dong/month for production material costs”, said Mr. Tin.

For Chan Thanh Ceramic Manufacturing – Trading – Service Company Limited in Ben Cat Town, participating in the project of Improving Energy Efficiency in Vietnamese small and medium enterprises with the energy-saving ceramic fired gas furnace has helped the company reduce the cost of burning materials by nearly 40% compared to burning with wood; Product quality is also enhanced. Mr. Ly Chi Thien, the production manager of the company, said that since the company started firing with gas, products with large designs (800-1,200cm) have had identical dryness, glossy enamel color and better quality.

Mr. Nguyen Binh Phuoc, Deputy Director of Department of Science and Technology assessed that, through the implementation of projects, the program has created a change in productivity, quality and competitiveness for enterprises in the province.

Affirming the brand in the market

Enterprises participating in projects and programs have successes and gradually affirmed their names in the market.

Mr. Ly Chi Thanh, Director of Chan Thanh Ceramic Production – Trading – Service Co., Ltd. said that since the implementation of firing gas ceramics, the company’s products have been increasingly improved, attract more consumers, especially the garden ceramic products are often ordered by foreign customers.

Mr. Ta Huu Toan, General Director of Huu Toan Joint Stock Company shared that, after winning the Gold Award of National Quality Award in 2009, the company continues to implement productivity and quality tools. Up to now, the company has been authorized to act as an official dealer in Vietnam of reputable engine and generator companies in the world such as Yanmar, Kohler, Mitsubishi, etc.

Mr. Nguyen Binh Phuoc said, with the achieved results, the province is continuing to implement the Project to Improve the productivity and quality of products and goods of small and medium enterprises in Binh Duong province in the period of 2017-2020. The objective of the project is that the province has 52 certified products; 20 construction companies apply advanced management systems such as ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/IEC 17025, etc., 9 enterprises apply a number of productivity and quality improvement tools such as 5S, kaizen, QCC quality group, KPI, etc., 16 businesses receive National Quality Awards and Asia-Pacific Awards.
