Effectively applying TPM at the company Cuong Vinh

Cuong Vinh Production Trading Service Co., Ltd established in 1995, with main activity being the manufacture of electric motors, electric fan motors. During the development process, Cuong Vinh Company always puts first priority on the mission: “Providing high quality electric motors for all domestic and foreign customers”.

Currently the company is providing products to many large domestic customers such as Bifan, My Phong, Senko, Lifan, Yanfan, Hoa Phuong, Tico, Phong Lan, 9199, etc. In addition, the company’s products Cuong Vinh has also confirmed and established in more than 10 countries around the world, such as Thailand, the Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Taiwan, Banglades, Myanmar, Nigeria, Egypt, Jordan, Cuba, Brazil, etc.

In the framework of the program: “Support for pilot application of overall performance management tool (TPM) for industrial enterprises” of the Ministry of Industry and Trade for 24 enterprises in the period of 2018-2019, Board of Directors The company has registered to participate in the program from August 2018 with the scope of application in the Aluminum Die-casting line of workshop 3.

As a result, the implementation of TPM has brought businesses the following benefits:

Implementing 10 improvement themes in 2019: 6 topics with long-term effects;

The index with OEE tended to increase from 48% to 69% (the highest was 74.5%);

Saving 285 million dong by saving aluminum slag;

Reduced downtime (which in turn means an increase of 8400 pieces per month);

Increase machine’s stability;

Expand the application of TPM to one more workshop from June 2019 and will expand to apply the entire company from January 2020.

Specifically:

  • Regarding visual management: Cuong Vinh Company implemented 5S 2 months before working as TPM (certified for participation in the technical assistance program – 5S implementation by the Ministry of Industry and Trade since December 2018). When implementing TPM, all employees have confidence in TPM after witnessing the change when applying 5S.
  • About manners and orderly: all members of the pilot line TPM (aluminum casting line) participate in TPM activities.
  • Regarding production management: OEE data and downtime, fault names are recorded daily. OEE is calculated daily, and aggregated monthly averaged.
  • Productivity efficiency: Ensuring stable productivity and always meeting the target (Because OEE is monitored daily).
  • Quality efficiency: The error rate is well controlled.
  • In terms of cost effectiveness: Total efficiency from Innovation activities in the period 5-12 / 2019 is VND 286.5 million. The energy consumption norm is also well controlled and reduced.
  • Regarding the training efficiency: Well implementing AM training activities to self-manage machines and equipment; Replication Maintenance and maintenance of casting machines 2,3,5,6,7,8 according to casting machines 1-4 and measure MTTR for each fault code. Strengthen OPLs for operator training (NVVH).

These achievements are all thanks to the constant attention and efforts from the leaders, the positions of Head and Deputy Head of the TPM Department (Deputy General Director – Head of the TPM Department; Workshop Manager 3 – Deputy Head of the TPM Department) and The entire TPM implementation committee includes 22 members from the departments (Administration, Accounting, Purchasing), the workshop (operator, maintenance staff, QC staff). Not stopping there, the TPM implementation team of Cuong Vinh Company has always maintained strong TPM activities from August 2018 to now (February 2020).

On the other hand, after the period guided in the support framework of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (June 2019), the company has implemented the QM pillar by itself (from August 2019; self-expanding the scope of TPM application from 1 The pilot line has 2 lines (from June 2019), then expanded to the whole company (from December 2019), expanding to 1 satellite company (from January 2020).
