Since 2018, Donagamex has promoted investment in programmable sewing machines to sew products. With this programmable sewing machine, a worker can control two machines at the same time via computer with the sewing mode set, the machine can sew 10 products / press, set up to run continuously without losing time-consuming and labor-intensive like manual sewing. Currently, Donagamex has invested more than 100 programmable sewing machines and continues to receive wide acceptance at workshops. Outstanding features of this machine increase productivity 4 times compared to workers working with older machines, the product makes beautiful and stable seam.
According to Mr. Vu Duc Dung – Deputy General Director of Donagamex, from the actual efficiency, the company continues to invest 11 billion dong to buy automatic cloth cutting machines and cloth-running machines. When investing in cloth cutting machine, one machine can supply materials to 300 sewing workers / day. Besides, the fabric running machine also brings high efficiency, helps reduce labor, saves costs for businesses, speeds up delivery, does not waste much time, costs for recruiting and workers training like before.
Automating production to increase productivity and product quality is the current trend, being implemented by industrial production enterprises, especially garment enterprises – labor-intensive industries. As the influence of 4.0 Industry is getting bigger and bigger, the competitiveness of technology products is becoming more and more fierce. Recognizing this, Donagamex has spent an amount of about 40 billion dong to convert and invest in machinery systems to replace human labor. Currently, the company’s equipment from fabric sorting machine, sewing sewing machine, sympatex presses, automatic bag removal system, automatic suspension system, duck feather stuffing, cutting and checking fabrics have all been replaced with new modern equipment.
Thanks to these changes, the company’s production capacity has been significantly improved. Each year, the company can produce 1.5 million jackets, 2.5 million shirts, 1.2 million pants, 1 million sets of sports and workwear, 800.000 dresses, skirts, 300.000 sets of vest and many other fashion products.
On the other hand, when putting modern machines into production, Donagamex takes only 1 week of training to perform operations on the machine, not taking much time compared to training sewing workers. Importantly, these machines reduce many operations and stages, helping workers to work faster and more professionally. As a result, each year, Donagamex reduces from 15-20% of labor, productivity increases over 20%. Especially, from 2018, when applying automatic, programmable sewing machine, productivity increased from 40 – 50% compared to before.
