Recently, Quick Delivery (GHN) has put into operation, automatic warehouse classification with an area of up to 3,000 m2. The special thing is that this sorting warehouse is operated by automation technology, maximum capacity of 40,000 orders / hour, saving a quarter of labor compared to conventional manual operation.
Nguyen Ha Anh, Managing Director of GHN, said that this is the only automatic sorting warehouse in Vietnam with a two-storey design that saves the maximum area and increases operating productivity. If normally with a large warehouse like this, the company must hire 400-500 employees, but with this automated process the number of employees is only about a quarter of the participants. Automated sorting warehouses not only help reduce the number of employees, but also help the Company increase product classification capacity, optimize costs and stabilize service quality for consumers.
The normal process of GHN will be to receiving orders from customers (stores), then to the sorting warehouse, then to the nationwide forwarding warehouse to deliver the goods to the buyers. Among the stages, manual sorting usually takes a lot of time and is also the reason that the goods are delayed to the recipient. With this smart warehouse system, the Company has saved 2-3 hours with orders for the day, increasing the success rate of the day to 85-90%, compared to about 60% as before.
Goods received from the store are packed into bags by GHN. Staff at the warehouse unpacked, put on the line in the warehouse classification. In the middle of each line, there will be staff to put the goods back in the right way, so that the order code is facing up so that the sensor can read the menu code, the system will automatically sort each item to put into bags either. When the bags are full, staff will close the package to deliver.
The machines and equipment are imported from abroad by the Company, but the main control software has been adjusted by the Company staff to suit the actual needs. The total investment value for this automated sorting system is about USD 2 million. Earlier, GHN opened a similar warehouse in Hanoi with an area of 4,000 m2 but only one floor, with a maximum capacity of 30 thousand applications / hour.
Luong Duy Hoai, Cofounder and CEO of GHN, said that this automated sorting warehouse is only a small part of the company’s warehouse development plan. GHN’s Ho Chi Minh City has led the market, but we will continue to invest more to lead in other areas of logistics ”, Mr. Hoai said. The GHN’s plan is to open up to 100 thousand square meters of warehouse to meet the needs of goods transshipment, fulfillment, warehouse for both companies and partners.
GHN has owned more than 700 truckloads nationwide, along with two 100% automatic sorting warehouses and 1,000 warehouses nationwide, the areas of these warehouses range from 500m2 to 10,000m2. In particular, GHN has just started construction of a warehouse with a total area of 50,000 square meters in Hanoi to be ready for the next phase. GHN aims to have up to 2000 post offices & associated points such as VinMart +, Cicke K , etc receiving goods nationwide.
