Thien Nam Investment and Development Joint Stock Company operates in the field of business, supplying yarn with a long-term vision of striving to become a leading enterprise in Vietnam’s textile and garment industry, through promoting the development of a chain of production of raw materials for the garment industry.
From July 2018, Thien Nam Investment and Development Joint Stock Company participated in the program of implementing TPM (Maintaining overall performance) with self-managed Maintenance (AM) pillars, Education and Training pillars , Planned Maintenance (PM) pillar, Centralized Innovation (FI) pillar. This is the TPM support program of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Trade.
Previously, Thien Nam had well maintained 5S good practices at the company and was certified by the Ministry of Industry and Trade for excellent completion. Based on the currently applied 5S program, the company is determined to perform well the TPM program to best support production activities at the company, towards the goal of no defects, no downtime, no loss and no accident.
Participating in the TPM support program of the Department of Science and Technology, Ministry of Industry and Trade, the company has been supported including:
Phase 1: The first 3 months, the TPM committee focused on inspecting and improving the AM and PM Forms and Records, Training Forms and OEE calculation forms.
Inspection content / Guidance on the practical application of documents according to TPM include:
– Checksheet checked every day
– Guide to operate the machine
– Standard maintenance
– Equipment background
– Resovle problem
Phase 2: The TPM Board focuses on field implementation of TPM and Training activities.
Training and guidance on AM pillars: Introduction to AM pillars and 7 steps. Instructions and practice on how to tag red, do image first after B&A, One point lesson.
Training and guidance on FI pillars (Focus improvement): Introduction to steps to implement FI. From the recorded data, give topics for improvement.
In addition, the Training pillars and Planning Maintenance (PM) pillars are strongly implemented by the company, in addition to consulting the consultant’s suggestions in phase 1, the company also applies software to effective management.
In October 2019, after more than a year of application, the TPM evaluation results showed that the score was 83% (Passed) with the evaluation items on: (1) TPM target; (2) how to implement the TPM; (3) AM self-governing maintenance pillars; (4) PM Maintenance Pillar Plan; (5) Education and Training Pillar; (6) FI centralized innovation pillar.
Result
After the evaluation session, the TPM Program Coordinator reviewed the results achieved, recognized the benefits that TPM activities brought to the plant and the ability to replicate. Thien Nam is expected to continue to deploy TPM and expand to other factories.
