As a small company specializing in producing green tea products exported to Pakistan market, with the desire to create a clean, professional working environment, step by step towards improving labor productivity and product quality, from October to December 2018, Phong Giang Co., Ltd. participated in the 5S good practice guidance program of the Ministry of Industry and Trade and EPRO Consulting Corporation, with the scope of deploying the entire factory of the company located in Lam Dong province.
With the support from consultants, the company has established the 5S Steering Committee, and invested VND 25 million to print posters and propaganda slogans, buy paint, make instructions, identify, etc; arranging workshops, training 5S for leaders and employees.
Next, the consultant has organized 5S training for 100% of officers and employees in the company; guiding and supporting the launching of the 5S movement in enterprises and implementing samples in one area. In addition, the Steering Committee of 5S also carried out the development of 5S evaluation criteria and carried out the assessment period.
After 3 months of implementing 5S good practice, materials, tools and products are streamlined, clearly positioned, facilitating use and management; machinery and equipment are cleaned, inspected regularly, helping to improve production capacity; meet food safety and hygiene requirements; neat company office, financial records, scientifically arranged material, which reduces the time it takes to perform the work; workers’ awareness in preserving factories, sanitary machinery and tidy is improved. In particular, there were more than 20 images changed at the scope of 5S deployment, the product fell during processing almost no longer.
