Centrica PLC provides an innovative solution that reduces production times

Centrica PLC is an industrial energy efficiency solutions provider headquartered in Millstream, UK. Recently, Centrica PLC acquired ENER-G Cogen International Limited (“ENER-G Cogen”), a supplier and operator of thermal and electrical solutions (CHP) combined for £ 145 million to open extensive list of technical solutions and improve service quality.

ENER-G Cogen Branch has over 30 years of experience and a long track record in consulting processes for customers in the industrial and commercial sectors. With the support from the Excellent Business Administration (BE) program of the Northwest Automotive Alliance (NAA) and the parent company Centrica PLC itself, the branch consulted and provided solutions for the problems. quality, cost and delivery (QCD) issues within the factory and within their own supply chain.

The solution mainly revolves around encouraging employees to proactively identify and make improvements themselves based on the parameters obtained from the QCD, the flow of materials analysis, and the list of value-creating activities/does not create value.

Since the project’s implementation, significant benefits have been demonstrated in QCD performance – both within the factory and in key suppliers. Even in the first survey, the productivity efficiency has reached an impressive number of 80%. The systems applied in the supply chain lead the suppliers to be held accountable for quality problems instead of the ENER-G having to fix the problems stemming from the supplier. One important result is a significant reduction in assembly time and a 60% reduction in production time.

Mr.Iain Conn, CEO of Centrica said: “The ENER-G Cogen team has an impressive track record in providing pre-sale and up-front solutions to a wide range of customers, from initial design to installation, warranty and maintenance. This is an important step in driving the expansion of innovative solutions towards enhancing customer experience and better serving their needs”.

Centrica PLC operates mainly in the UK but also provides innovative consulting services in many major markets around the world such as the United States, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands and Romania with a diverse list of clients in the not only public sector but also private sector. In addition, the company also participates in the Australian, Irish, Japanese, Canadian and Turkish markets through sales partnerships with local units.
